SO MISS BROWN WILL LEAD THE FIRST PART OF THE PRESENTATION, PARTNERING WITH THE GROUP THAT'S WORKING WITH US OUT OF CLEMENTS HIGH SCHOOL, PROVIDING AN UPDATE ON THE STATUS OF THE WORK AT CLEMENTS. AND THEN THE SECOND HALF OF THE PRESENTATION IS MR. GWYNN, AND HE WILL BE OUTLINING THE FINANCIAL STATUS, BRINGING SPECIFIC, SPECIFIC FOCUS TO THE CONTINGENCY BALANCE AND WHERE WE ARE THERE. AND SO WE KNOW THAT THAT IS ONE OF OUR LARGEST PROJECTS. AND SO WE'LL HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY TODAY TO LOOK AT THE WORK THAT IS CURRENTLY GOING ON AT CLEMENTS HIGH SCHOOL, AND THEN WHAT THE FUTURE WILL LOOK LIKE ONCE THE BUILDING IS COMPLETE, AFTER WHICH MR. IT'S YOU CAN SEE AT THE VERY BOTTOM WHERE THAT'S THE CURRENT HIGH SCHOOL AT THE TOP OR THE NORTH OF THE SITE. THAT IS WHERE WE ARE CURRENTLY BUILDING THE NEW CLEMENTS HIGH SCHOOL. SO IT'S A TWO PHASE PROJECT. WE'RE GOING TO HAVE THE FIRST PHASE IN CONSTRUCTION CURRENTLY, AND WE'LL SEE SOME PHOTOS COMING UP. AND THE SECOND PHASE THEN WILL DEMOLISH THE CURRENT HIGH SCHOOL AND DO THE TRACK AND FIELDS AND ADDITIONAL PARKING, JUST TO KIND OF GET EVERYBODY BACK INTO WHERE WE ARE IN CONSTRUCTION AND ORIENTED IN THE BUILDING, YOU'RE GOING TO SEE PHOTOS THAT ARE GOING TO GO ON SCREEN, RIGHT? THE APPROVED BUDGET IS $1.26 BILLION. OF THAT AMOUNT, WE HAVE $411 MILLION THAT IS ENCUMBERED, AND THAT IS FOR CONTRACTS THAT HAVE BEEN APPROVED BY THE BOARD, BUT FOR WHICH WE HAVE NOT WRITTEN THE CHECKS. WE HAVE EXPENDED $356.4 MILLION, AND THAT IS ON

CONTRACTS THAT HAVE BEEN PREVIOUSLY APPROVED BY THE BOARD. AND THAT LEAVES US WITH A BALANCE OF $491.9 MILLION IN THE 23 BOND. WE STARTED THE PERIOD WITH $43.2 MILLION IN CONTINGENCY, AND DUE TO PROJECT CLOSEOUTS, WE HAVE ADDED AN ADDITIONAL $901,000 TO CONTINGENCY. AND THAT LEAVES US WITH 400 OR $444.1 MILLION IN CONTINGENCY. AND THAT AMOUNT DOES TAKE INTO ACCOUNT ALL PRIOR CONTINGENCY AMOUNTS THAT THE BOARD HAS APPROVED. AND THAT INCLUDES THE ANTICIPATED SHORTFALLS THAT WE HAD AT MISSION, ALDRIDGE, HENRY ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS, COLEMAN MIDDLE SCHOOL AND CLEMENTS HIGH SCHOOL. AND SO THOSE HAVE ALL BEEN ACCOUNTED FOR. THE CONTRACTS HAVE BEEN AWARDED ALONG WITH THE APPROVED BUDGETS.

AND SO OBVIOUSLY WITH HENRY ALDRIDGE AND MISSION, THOSE PROJECTS ARE ALMOST COMPLETELY FINALIZED. AND SO THOSE BUDGET, THE FUNDS THAT WERE ALLOCATED BY THE BOARD MET THOSE PROJECTS BUDGETS, AND WE DIDN'T NEED ANY ADDITIONAL. WE EXPECT THE SAME THING WITH CLEMENTS AND COLEMAN, ALTHOUGH OF COURSE SOME UNFORESEEN THING COULD HAPPEN. BUT BASED ON THE CONTRACTS BEING ESTABLISHED, EVERYTHING IS MOVING FORWARD AS PLANNED AND WE DON'T ANTICIPATE ADDITIONAL CONTINGENCY ON THOSE PROJECTS. THIS TIMELINE REPRESENTS THE ANTICIPATED NEEDS FOR CONTINGENCY THAT WILL HAVE OVER THE NEXT NINE MONTHS OR SO. AND WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE AQUATICS PRACTICE FACILITY, THESE ARE LIFE CYCLE DEFICIENCIES. AND SO THESE ARE REPAIRS TO HVAC SYSTEMS, RENOVATIONS, AS WELL AS SITE WORK THAT WOULD OCCUR AS PART OF THE 23 BOND. THE DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION TEAM DID ESTIMATE THESE PROJECTS, AND WE ANTICIPATE THAT THE 20.7 MILLION IS WHAT WE WOULD NEED FOR COMPLETING THOSE PROJECTS.

THIS AMOUNT HAS NOT CHANGED SINCE WE LAST UPDATED YOU ALL IN IN AUGUST, AND SO BASED ON THE PROJECT TIMELINE, WE ANTICIPATE WE WOULD BE COMING FORWARD WITH A NEXT REQUEST FOR CONTINGENCY IN NOVEMBER. AND THAT WOULD BE $1.6 MILLION. SO FOR THE ANTICIPATED USE OF CONTINGENCY, AGAIN, WE HAVE $44.1 MILLION AVAILABLE, TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THAT $20.7 MILLION FOR THE LIFE CYCLE DEFICIENCIES, AS WELL AS THE $6.2 MILLION THAT WOULD BE NEEDED TO COMPLETE THE AQUATICS PRACTICE FACILITY, THAT WOULD LEAVE US WITH $17.2 MILLION IN CONTINGENCY. AND THEN, AS WE SHARED PREVIOUSLY, THERE'S THREE NOTES THAT I WOULD MAKE ON THAT $17.2 MILLION. FIRST, AS WE PREVIOUSLY SHARED WITH MADDEN ELEMENTARY, WE DO EXPECT ABOUT $2.5 MILLION TO MOVE THE STUDENTS AS THAT SLAB REPAIR GETS UNDERWAY. AND THAT WOULD COME FROM THIS AMOUNT. SECOND, THIS INCLUDES THIS AMOUNT INCLUDES $3.8 MILLION IN E-RATE REBATES. THE REBATES WERE DEPOSITED INTO PROGRAM CONTINGENCY, BUT WERE ALSO IDENTIFIED TO FUND SOME TECHNOLOGY PROJECTS THAT WERE NOT INCLUDED IN THE 23 BOND, AND THE I.T. DEPARTMENT WILL BE SHARING INFORMATION ON THE EXPECTED PROJECTS IN THE COMING WEEKS THAT WOULD UTILIZE THOSE REBATE FUNDS, AND BOARD APPROVAL WILL BE REQUIRED TO ALLOCATE THOSE FUNDS FROM CONTINGENCY. AND THEN THE LAST THING THAT I'LL MENTION IS THAT WE ARE WORKING THROUGH THE PROCESS OF CLOSING OUT PROJECTS IN THE 2018 BOND, AND EXPECT THERE TO BE SOME ADDITIONS TO PROGRAM CONTINGENCY BY CALENDAR YEAR END THAT WILL ALSO ADJUST THAT AMOUNT. SO THAT IS FOR THE STAFF AUGMENTATION FOR IT SERVICES. AND WE BUDGETED FUNDS BOTH IN THE BOND AND IN IT TO UTILIZE THOSE THOSE SERVICES. HOWEVER, BECAUSE WE INITIATED THE 1 TO 1 PROJECT, WE USED ALMOST ALL OF THE FUNDING AVAILABLE IN THE CONTRACT. AND REMEMBER, THERE'S A DIFFERENCE IN THE CONTRACT AMOUNTS THE BOARD APPROVES AND THE BUDGET. IN THIS CASE, WE'VE UTILIZED ALL THE FUNDS IN THE CONTRACT, BUT THEY'RE STILL BUDGETED FUNDS AVAILABLE OUTSIDE OF CONTINGENCY FOR THOSE THOSE SERVICES AND WITHIN THE BOND WITHIN THE BOND. YES, MA'AM. SO IT IS COMING BACK TO REQUEST AN INCREASE IN THE CONTRACT SO THAT THEY CAN UTILIZE THOSE BUDGETED FUNDS IN THE BOND. OKAY. I JUST AND I DON'T KNOW WHY I DIDN'T FLIP BACK WHEN I GOT TO THE END OF

SO I'D LIKE TO SEE I DON'T KNOW IF YOU GUYS HAVE THIS NOW, BUT I'D LIKE TO SEE THE LIST OF SCHOOLS THAT ARE GOING TO BE ADDRESSED FROM THIS 1.6 MILLION SO THAT THE TRUSTEES CAN SEE AND MAKE SURE THAT SOME OF THE ISSUES THAT HAVE BEEN BROUGHT TO OUR ATTENTION ARE, IN FACT, GOING TO BE ABLE TO BE ADDRESSED THROUGH THIS. AND IF NOT, THEN WE CAN TROUBLESHOOT THAT. AND I'LL JUST ADD TO THERE ARE IF YOU NOTICE ALSO IN DECEMBER AND IN APRIL, THERE'S ADDITIONAL HVAC PACKAGES THAT WOULD BE COMING FORWARD AS WELL. BUT THE WAY THEY ARE SET NOW, THEY ARE SET TO HAVE MINIMAL IMPACT ON THE CAMPUSES THAT ARE ARE EXPECTED TO HAVE THIS. THESE THINGS HAPPEN, BUT WE CAN TAKE A LOOK AT THAT WHEN WE BRING YOU THE COMPREHENSIVE LIST TO LET YOU KNOW IF THERE ARE ANY ADJUSTMENTS THAT COULD BE MADE TO THE TIMELINE AS WELL. AND I'M SORRY. AND SO THAT'S 91% OF ELIGIBLE STUDENTS FOR THE SURVEY AND 66% OF ELIGIBLE STUDENTS FOR THE SURVEY. A LOT OF TIMES WHENEVER YOU SEE THIS KIND OF DATA, YOU MAY THINK EITHER THE NUMBERS ARE A LOT OF RESPONSES OR A FEW RESPONSES. SO IT'S IMPORTANT TO TALK ABOUT A RELIABILITY METRICS AND SAMPLE SIZE. SO WHEN WE LOOK AT THE RELIABILITY OF THE CLIMATE AND CULTURE SURVEY, IT HAS A 95% CONFIDENCE LEVEL. SOME AREAS THAT WERE NOTED TO LEVERAGE FIRST WAS AROUND THE LEARNING EXPERIENCES, PROVIDING ACCESS TO HIGH QUALITY TEACHERS WHO ENGAGE STUDENTS IN CRITICAL THINKING. SO WE DO SEE THAT OUR TEACHERS HAVE MORE EXPERIENCE IN FORT BEND ISD, AND THIS IS WHAT OUR PARENTS GUARDIANS ARE ASKING FOR WITH RESPECT TO COMMUNICATION. OUR PARENTS WANT CONSISTENT, TRANSPARENT, AND TIMELY COMMUNICATION AROUND STUDENT PROGRESS. BOTH OUR PARENTS AND OUR STAFF WANT THAT SAME LEVEL OF COMMUNICATION AROUND DECISION MAKING, THEIR INVOLVEMENT AND HOW WE MAKE OUR DECISIONS. THEY HAVE REPORTED GAINS IN FEELINGS OF SAFETY, UP 9% FROM 2023. THEY ALSO HAVE REPORTED GAINS AROUND FAIRNESS OF RULES, DISCIPLINE AND FEELING THEY ARE A PART OF THE SCHOOL COMMUNITY. MORE STUDENTS REPORT THAT AT LEAST ONE ADULT KNOWS THEM WELL, WITH TEACHERS BEING ATTRIBUTED TO THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF SUPPORT.

85% OF STUDENTS SAY IT'S OUR TEACHERS THAT ARE THE ONE ADULT THAT KNOWS THEM VERY WELL, AND THEN MOVING INTO COGNITIVE ENGAGEMENT, WHICH IS THIS IS NOW SHIFTING FROM PARTICIPATION AND HOW I INTERACT WITH PEOPLE TO THE INVESTMENT THAT A STUDENT MAKES IN LEARNING.
