THE DOCTOR SMITH. I'M GONNA TURN THIS OVER TO YOU. ALL RIGHT. THANK YOU, MADAME PRESIDENT.

GOOD EVENING TO THOSE THAT ARE IN ATTENDANCE AND VIEWING BOARD MEMBERS. GOOD TO SEE YOU THIS EVENING. I HAVE THE FOLLOWING ITEMS THAT I'D LIKE TO REPORT ON JUST SOME EVENTS OVER THE LAST SEVERAL WEEKS. UM THE FIRST IS, UH, THE GLOBAL SUMMIT THAT TOOK PLACE. UH, THIS WEEKEND. UH I

[00:10:03]

HAD THE AWESOME PLEASURE THIS PAST WEEKEND OF PARTICIPATING IN THE GLOBAL SUMMIT THAT TOOK PLACE AT TRAVIS HIGH SCHOOL. UH, THIS WAS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO BE IN FOR STUDENTS TO BE INVOLVED IN LEADERSHIP FOR STUDENTS TO BE ENGAGED WITH, UH, SOME OF THE TOP PROFESSIONALS, UH, IN THE COUNTRY AS THEY TALKED ABOUT, UH, GLOBAL ISSUES FACING THE NATION, AND SO IT WAS AN AWESOME OPPORTUNITY FOR ME TO SEE HOW WELL OUR STUDENTS WERE. HOW WELL VERSED THEY WERE. IN THE ISSUES THAT THEY ARE ADVOCATES FOR. UH, THIS WAS THE 12TH YEAR OF THE SUMMIT. AND AGAIN, OUR STUDENTS DID SUCH A WONDERFUL JOB. THEY REALLY LED THE ENTIRE CONFERENCE, UH, PUTTING ON THE CONFERENCE ORGANIZING THE LOGISTICS. UH AND ALSO, UH, REALLY FACILITATING THE SPEAKERS THAT TOOK PLACE. UM UH, AFTER THE PERFORMANCE AND SO AGAIN, JUST VERY PROUD OF THE WORK THAT THEY ARE DOING, AND IT WAS AN HONOR FOR ME TO BE ABLE TO PRESENT, UH TO THE STUDENTS AND ALSO WITNESS. UH, THE WORK THAT THEY WERE DOING AT THE GLOBAL SUMMIT. UM THE SECOND ITEM THAT I HAVE FOR, UM, UPDATE TONIGHT. OF COURSE, YOU KNOW, SECURING TOP TALENT IS TOP PRIORITY FOR US IN THE DISTRICT. AND SO I AM EXCITED TO SHARE THAT OUR HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT THEY RECENTLY HOSTED VERY SUCCESSFUL TALENT SERVE TO TRAVIS HIGH SCHOOL. LIKE TO GIVE KUDOS TO THE ENTIRE TEAM IN THE HR DEPARTMENT. IT WAS A BIG UNDERTAKING, AND IT DID AN OUTSTANDING JOB. UM ALSO WANNA GIVE KUDOS TO, UH TRUSTEE GARCIA , WHO WAS IN ATTENDANCE WITH ME THERE? UH, HE WAS ABLE TO SEE THE FIRSTHAND ACCOUNT. JUST UH, THE POSITIVE ENERGY THAT TOOK PLACE THERE. UH, THERE WERE, UH OVER, UH, 1700 JOB. CANDIDATES THAT WERE IN ATTENDANCE WAS VERY IMPRESSIVE. THE TURNOUT, UH, THE COMMUNICATIONS DEPARTMENT PRODUCED A MARKETING VIDEO. IT GOT OVER 20,000 VIEWS, AND SO WE WERE ABLE TO ALMOST REACH 100 ON THE SPOT OFFERS LETTERS TO INTENT TO HIRE TO HIGH QUALITY CANDIDATES. AND SO, UH, WE'RE REALLY EXCITED ABOUT BRINGING, UH, TOP TALENT TO THE DISTRICT. AND IT WAS GREAT TO SEE THAT THERE WAS, UH, A GREAT INTEREST.

UH, IN THE TURNOUT IN, UH, FORT BEN NUYS D. ON THE NEXT ITEM I HAVE IS THIS, UH, STEM ROBOTICS REGIONAL COMPETITION. OUR STUDENTS CONTINUE TO PERFORM AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL THERE. OUR DISTRICT RECENTLY HOSTED THE ANNUAL UNDERWATER STEM ROBOTICS COMPETITION FOR THE REGION, UH, AT THE AQUATICS PRACTICE FACILITY AT HODGES BEND. THE COMPETITION REQUIRES TEAMS OF STUDENTS TO BUILD REMOTELY OPERATED VEHICLES THAT NAVIGATE IN UNDERWATER COURSE. UH, THEY ARE JUDGED ON TECHNICAL DESIGN AND THEIR VEHICLES. PERFORMANCE AND SO NASA ASTRONAUTS WERE PRESENT. UH THERE TO, UH, PRESENT THE AWARDS TO THE STUDENTS. OUT OF 60 TEAMS FROM VARIOUS DISTRICTS FOR BEN ISD HAD THREE TEAMS THAT ARE ADVANCING TO THE INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION. THAT'S PRETTY IMPRESSIVE. YOU THINK THE NUMBER OF TEAMS IN THREE OF OUR TEAMS ARE ADVANCING? AND SO WE HAD TEAM ROBO RAYS FROM AUSTIN HIGH SCHOOL, AND THEY WERE NAMED THE EVENTS CHAMPION, AND THIS IS A REPEAT FOR THEM. AND THEN WE ALSO HAD REPRESENTATION FROM CLEMENTS HIGH SCHOOL AND PALMER ELEMENTARY. THEY ALSO ADVANCED AND SO THEY WILL BE HEADING TO WASHINGTON DC NEXT MONTH TO REPRESENT OUR DISTRICT, SO CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OF OUR STEM SUPERSTARS. AND THEN ALSO, ATTENDANCE IS A PRIORITY FOR US HERE IN THE DISTRICT, AND SO THE NEXT ITEM I JUST WANNA BRING AWARENESS TO OUR DISTRICT'S CAMPAIGN TO IMPROVE STUDENT ATTENDANCE. IT WAS LAUNCHED EARLIER THIS MONTH. THE CAMPAIGN EMPHASIZES THE IMPORTANCE OF COMING TO SCHOOL EVERY DAY, AND IT CONNECTS. UH, THE INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAM AND HOW CRITICAL IT IS FOR OUR STUDENTS TO BE PRESENT IN ORDER TO BE AT THEIR BEST INSTRUCTION AND SO CONSISTENT DAILY ATTENDANCE ENSURES THAT OUR STUDENTS ARE RECEIVING ACADEMIC INSTRUCTION THAT THEY NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL AND IT IS A PRIORITY FOR US AS A DISTRICT. OUR GOAL IS TO BE ABLE TO INCREASE STUDENT ATTENDANCE TO 97% AND WE'RE HOPEFUL, UH, THAT EFFORT TO CAMPAIGN AND HIGHLIGHT THE CRITICAL NATURE OF BEING AT SCHOOL WILL HELP US TO REACH THAT GOAL. AND THEN FINALLY, WE HAD THE 2024 TEACHER OF THE YEAR. UH, WE CELEBRATED FOR BEN. I SDS BEST OF THE BEST RECENTLY AT OUR ANNUAL TEACHER OF THE YEAR BANQUET THIS YEAR. THE ELEMENTARY TEACHER OF THE YEAR IS SHAQUILLE DIXON, AND HE IS A TEACHER AT SUGAR MILL ELEMENTARY AND SIERRA JOSEPH, WHO'S A TEACHER AT THORNTON MIDDLE SCHOOL, AND SHE WAS AWARDED WITH THE SECONDARY TEACHER OF THE YEAR. AND SO WE WANT TO CONGRATULATE THEM, UH, FOR THEIR ACCOMPLISHMENTS THIS SCHOOL YEAR. UH, MADAM PRESIDENT THAT CONCLUDES THE SUPERINTENDENT'S REPORT. THANK

[00:15:01]

YOU, DOCTOR SMITH. UH, FOR THE NEXT ITEM WILL HAVE A PUBLIC COMMENTS SO MAY I HAVE A

[6. Public Comment]

EVERYONE A LITTLE BIT. BE QUIET SO WE CAN HEAR EVERYONE WHEN THEY'RE SPEAKING. SO TONIGHT WE HAVE A 40 SPEAKERS TONIGHT. SO NORMALLY WE LIMIT THE PUBLIC COMMENTS WITHIN ONE HOUR, SO THAT'S ACTUALLY GAVE US FOR EACH, UH, SPEAKER. 1.5 A MINUTE, BUT I DO UNDERSTAND SOME OF THE PEOPLE CAME LAST MEETING AND THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO SPEAK BECAUSE OF THAT. WE'RE GONNA GIVE EVERY SPEAKER TWO MINUTES TO SPEAK. UM SO THE BOARD ENCOURAGES AND WELCOME COMMENTS AND INPUT FROM OUR PATRONS. PLEASE LIMIT YOUR COMMENTS TO TWO MINUTES AND PLEASE REFRAIN FROM MENTIONING A STUDENT. OR EMPLOYEE'S NAME OR OTHER INFORMATION THAT ALLOWS THE SPECIFIC STUDENT OR EMPLOYEE TO BE IDENTIFIED WHEN VOICING A CONCERN OR COMPLAINT AS BOARD POLICY PROVIDES ALTERNATIVE PROCEDURES THROUGH THE GRIEVANCE PROCESS, POLICIES GF LOCAL OR D GB, A LOCAL YOU CAN THROW THOSE POLICIES TO SEEK RESOLUTION TO COMPLAINTS. I WILL READ THE NAME OF THE PERSON REGISTERED TO SPEAK AND SHARE THAT THEY HAVE TWO MINUTES TO MAKE THEIR COMMENTS. ONCE THE SPEAKERS START THEIR COMMENTS, THE BOARD OF SECRETARY MR DAVID HAMILTON WILL ANNOUNCE WHEN THEY HAVE 30 SECONDS REMAINING. ONCE THE TWO MINUTES TIME LIMIT HAS EXPIRED, AND WHETHER THE SPEAKER HAS CONCLUDED THEIR COMMENTS. MR HAMILTON WILL ANNOUNCE THAT THE SPEAKER'S TIME HAS ELAPSED AND I WILL ASK YOU TO RETURN TO YOUR SEAT. SO WE'LL START WITH THE FIRST SPEAKER ON MY LIST. THE FIRST ONE WILL HAVE MEREDITH CHRIS THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. THANK YOU. ACTUALLY UH MEREDITH AND GOLD CROSS ONE, AND OK, SO YOU YES. YEAH, I YES.

LIKE YES. TO THE OFFICER MIKE. THANK YOU. THANK YOU BOTH FOR COMING TONIGHT. THANK YOU. YEAH.

THANK YOU. DOCTOR SMITH BOARD OF TRUSTEES APPRECIATE IT. MEREDITH AND MYSELF HAVE BEEN INVOLVED AND HAVE VOLUNTEERED FOR THE PAST THREE YEARS. IN MY SHORT TIME WITH COACH, I'VE SEEN HIS POSITIVE IMPACT FIRSTHAND WITH OUR STUDENT ATHLETES. HE'S A GREAT MENTOR AND COACH. HE PROVIDES STRUCTURE AND AN ENVIRONMENT OF CONTINUOUS LEARNING, REGARDLESS IF WE WIN OR LOSE HE PROVIDES OPPORTUNITY FOR PARENTS TO LEARN. IF WE HAVE QUESTIONS ON THE GAME OR THE PROGRAM. HE IS THE TYPE OF PERSON YOU WANT YOUR KIDS TAKING DIRECTION FROM COACHES REMOVAL WILL HAVE A NEGATIVE IMPACT ON THE STUDENT ATHLETES AND THE FAMILIES YOU SEE HERE TODAY, IT WILL HAVE A RIPPLE EFFECT THROUGHOUT THE SCHOOL AS WELL. MY ASKS TODAY IS TO PLEASE REVIEW THE CASE AND DETERMINE IF THERE ARE ANY OTHER DISCIPLINARY AVENUES THAT CAN BE TAKEN IN WHICH COACH REMAINS AS AUSTIN HIGH SCHOOL'S HEAD FOOTBALL COACH. THE PAST 2.5 WEEKS HAS GIVEN US ALL ADDITIONAL STRESS AND ANXIETY. YOU CAN PROBABLY HEAR IT IN MY VOICE AS WE NAVIGATE THROUGH THIS SITUATION. MANY ARE QUESTIONING THEIR OWN RETURN TO AUSTIN HIGH SCHOOL. I SAID COACH DOESN'T RETURN AT THE MOMENT THE BOYS HAVE BEEN TOLD THEY CAN'T PRACTICE WHAT THEY ENJOY ANOTHER PUNCH TO THE STUDENT ATHLETES AND THE PROGRAM. SO I ASK AGAIN TO PLEASE PURSUE A DIFFERENT PATH THAT KEEPS OUR COACH OUR HEAD COACH AT AUSTIN HIGH SCHOOL.

THANK YOU. I APPRECIATE Y'ALL'S TIME. OK? THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR COMING TONIGHT. THANK YOU. NEXT.

WE HAVE JIA HUAN DAVIS. THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT AND YOU TWO HAVE TWO MINUTES. THANK YOU.

MY NAME IS JOAN DAVIS. I'M A STUDENT HERE WITH, UM AUSTIN FOOTBALL PROGRAM. I JUST, UH WANT TO COME HERE TODAY WITH A REQUEST HOPEFULLY TO GET YOU ALL TO RETHINK YOUR DECISION FOR THE HEAD COACH POSITION AT AUSTIN HIGH SCHOOL. THIS DECISION IS NOT ONLY HURTING AUSTIN SPORTS PROGRAM. IT IS ALSO LEAVING MISCONCEPTIONS AND DOUBTS FOR THE PLAYERS AND HURTING OUR FUTURE. HE HAS HELPED EVERY SINGLE ONE OF OUR PLAYERS IN SOME KIND OF WAY. WHETHER IT'S PERSONAL SITUATIONS GETTING BETTER, FASTER, SMARTER. HE'S THERE FOR IT. THE IMPACT THIS COACH HAS MADE ON THE AUSTIN SPORTS PROGRAM IS GENERATIONAL. HE TURNED THE PROGRAM AROUND AND LED US TO A BETTER SEASON THAN LAST YEAR. HE IS THE PERFECT DEFINITION OF A TRUE COACH. HE IS A COACH THAT UNDERSTANDS PERSONAL SITUATION AND DOES WHATEVER HE CAN TO HELP THE PERSON I WAS WHEN I FIRST CAME TO AUSTIN IS A TOTALLY DIFFERENT PERSON THAN WHO I AM NOW, AND HE

[00:20:01]

TRULY HAS IMPACTED THAT IN A BIG WAY. HE REVIVED MY LOVE FOR FOOTBALL AGAIN HAS MADE A FUTURE FOR ME WHERE I NEVER THOUGHT WAS POSSIBLE. THE TREMENDOUS GOAL FROM OUR TEAM HAS GREATLY BEEN IMPACTED BY THIS COACH. AUSTIN HAS BECOME A DIFFERENT PROGRAM WITH HIM, AND IT WOULD BE HURTFUL TO SEE THAT STRIPPED AWAY ACTS THAT YOU PLEASE, PLEASE RETHINK YOUR DECISION.

THANK YOU. THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. THANK YOU. NEXT. WE HAVE A WHALE, HERMAN. THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. THANK YOU. CAN YOU GIVE IT TO THE OFFICER? THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT.

THANK YOU. HI MY NAME IS WILL HERMAN I'M A STUDENT ATHLETE AT FORT BEN AUSTIN HIGH SCHOOL. I COME BEFORE THE BOARD TODAY TO DISCUSS THE RECENT COACHING CHANGE THAT THE DISTRICT IS TRYING TO MAKE. WHEN I FIRST ARRIVED AT FORT BEND, AUSTIN HIGH SCHOOL, I NOTICED A FEW THINGS THAT RAISED CONCERNS, I NOTICED A TEAM THAT LACKED CONFIDENCE AND TEAM CHEMISTRY.

HOWEVER IN THE SUMMER BEFORE THE RECENT SEASON, THE DISTRICT MADE A NEW COACHING HIRE. THEY COMPLETELY CHANGED THE FEEL. RIGHT FROM THE START, THE COACH BROUGHT A NEW POSITIVE OUTLOOK WITH A NEW TEAM PHRASE THIS BEING UNLEASHED, MEANING THERE IS NO MORE NEGATIVITY THAT WILL HOLD YOU BACK AS ATHLETES AND STUDENTS. THIS WAS NOTICED ALMO ALMOST IMMEDIATELY WITH STUDENTS WHO STARTED TO SHOW OUT BECAUSE OF THE COACH'S POSITIVE STYLE AND ABILITY TO COACH EVERY KID IN THE WAY THAT BENEFITED THEM. THE MOST. ANOTHER THING ABOUT THAT WAS THAT THIS COACH NEVER ONLY COACHED VARSITY ATHLETES OR HIS BEST ATHLETES, HE MAKES HER TO COACH EVERY KID JUST LIKE THE LAST WITH ALL THE THING WITH ALL OF THESE THINGS IN MIND COACH HELPED TO BRING US TOGETHER AS ONE TEAM UNDER ONE NAME TO PLAY FOR ONE NAME. THAT BEING AUSTIN HIGH SCHOOL WITH ALL OF THESE IDEOLOGIES PUT INTO PLACE BY THIS COACH THIS LAST SEASON. AUSTIN HIGH SCHOOL FINISHED WITH A RECORD OF FIVE AND FIVE. WHILE THIS MAY NOT SEEM LIKE A BIG FEAT, THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME OUR SCHOOL HAS BEEN AT A 501% IN NEARLY A DECADE. WITH THAT, UH, WITH THE SENIORS GONE, IT WAS TIME TO TAKE THE NEXT STEP. WHICH BRINGS US TO THIS YEAR'S SLOGAN SITCOM, WHICH MEANS YOU HAVE BEEN UNLEASHED. AND IT IS NOW TIME TO GO TAKE WHAT IS YOURS? NOT ONLY IN FOOTBALL BUT IN LIFE, WHICH COULD BE GETTING STRAIGHT OR ACCOMPLISHING A LIFE GOAL. WE ARE NOW IN THE MIDST OF THE LEADERSHIP PROGRAM PUT TOGETHER BY THIS COACH THAT TEACHES YOUNG MEN WHAT IT IS LIKE TO BE A TRUE LEADER, ONE OF THESE TEACHINGS BEING EXTREME OWNERSHIP. THESE MEETINGS WERE HELD ON WEDNESDAY MORNINGS BEFORE SCHOOL BY THE COACH, HOWEVER, NOW APPOINTED BY STUDENT LEADERS IS, UH, HELD EVERY MONDAY 30 SECONDS. UH, SO WHAT DO YOU HAVE BEFORE YOU IS A PART OF THE LEADERSHIP MEETING? IT IS OUR WIND SHEETS, WHICH, UH, HELPS STUDENTS GIVE GOALS FOR THE WEEK AND ALLOWS, UH, COACHES TO CHECK ON GRADES. WITH ALL THESE GREAT THINGS PUT INTO PLACE BY THIS COACH. GETTING RID OF HIM NOW WOULD BE LIKE RIPPING THE CLOTH OFF OF A TABLE FULL OF FINE SILVERWARE AND STOPPING THE GREAT PROGRESS OF STUDENT ATHLETES THAT I AUSTIN HIGH SCHOOL ON THE FIELD AND IN THE CLASSROOM. AND WHILE MY OPINION MAY BE BIASED BECAUSE OF MY LAST NAME, I BELIEVE ALL THE PEOPLE HERE IN SUPPORT OF COACH HARMER PROVED MY POINT. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME. THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. THANK YOU. AND NEXT WE HAVE JASIN SOSA. DO WE HAVE A JUSTIN? HE'S OUT THERE, OK? WELL, WAIT. YEAH IT'S JUST, UH, HERE. OH, HE'S OUTSIDE. BUT IT'S OH, SO CAN YOU CAN CAN HE COME? CAN CAN HE COME IN, OR ARE THEY THAT HE IS OK, WE'LL JUST WAIT. THAT'S OK. SO NEXT. WE HAVE, UH, MARIANNA SOSA. MAYBE THAT WAY.

JUSTIN OK, JUSTIN. THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. THANK YOU. I THINK SO. I THINK BECAUSE THE VOTING WE HAVE A VOTING BOOTH. THAT'S WHY THEY HAVE TO, UH, CHANGE THE SPEAKER. SO SORRY FOR THE DELAY. SUGGESTING YOU HAVE TWO MINUTES. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. UM, I JUST WANNA TALK ABOUT HOW THIS COACH TO ME AND ALL OF MY TEAMMATES. HE'S REALLY PUSHED US TO BE BETTER ATHLETES AND BETTER PEOPLE. UH, THE STATS ARE JUST SO LIKE, LAST YEAR WE WENT FROM TWO AND EIGHT AND I LIKE WE'RE AT FIVE AND FIVE NOW. SORRY. I'M A LITTLE NERVOUS, BUT, UH BUT I JUST WANT TO SAY THAT HE'S A GREAT COACH. UM HE'S REALLY BROUGHT UP THE CULTURE HERE AT AUSTIN. WE NEVER HAD SO MANY PEOPLE, UH, ROOTING FOR US. THERE'S NO NEVER HAD SO MANY PEOPLE BEHIND US. AND, UH, HE'S REALLY JUST TAUGHT US TO BE BETTER, UH PEOPLE AND MORE RESPONSIBLE LIKE HOW WE SAID ABOUT THE WINDS. SHEETS UH, I FEEL LIKE AS ME AS AN ATHLETE. I'M BECOME MORE RESPONSIBLE, AS IN WITH MY SCHOOLWORK AND ON AND OFF THE FIELD. AND I WOULD PLEASE. REALLY, UH, THINK ABOUT RECONSIDERING YOUR DECISION. THANK YOU, JUSTINE FOR COMING. THANK YOU. AND NEXT WE HAVE MARIANNA SOSA. OKAY? WELL, WE WILL WAIT FOR HER. MARIANNA. SOSA. OKAY? THANK YOU.

[00:25:25]

OKAY? SO I WILL JUST ANNOUNCE THE NEXT SPEAKER'S NAME. SO THAT WAY, YOU KNOW, SO NEXT ONE IS STEPHANIE ELISE. BUT WE'LL WE'LL WAIT FOR MARIANA SOSA. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR COMING TONIGHT.

THANK YOU. THANK YOU WHENEVER YOU'RE READY, YES. MY NAME IS MARIANA SOSA. NO YES. THANK YOU.

GOOD EVENING, EVERYONE. UM JUST WANNA LET YOU I JUST WANT YOU TO KNOW THAT COACH. IT'S A WONDERFUL COACH TO MY SON. HE'S A FOOTBALL PLAYER AT A HIGH SCHOOL. HE HAS MOTIVATE HIM, NOT JUST HIM. I HAD HEARD FROM OTHER PLAYERS. HE MOTIVATES THEM. HE'S A WONDERFUL COACH. HE GOES BEYOND BEING COACH. HE HELPS OUR KIDS. HE LISTENS TO OUR KIDS, AND I THINK THAT HE REALLY NEED TO STAY IN AUSTIN HIGH SCHOOL. BECAUSE HE IS A WONDERFUL COACH. SO PLEASE. LET HIM STAY. THANK YOU. THANK YOU FOR COMING. THANK YOU. SO NEXT WE HAVE STEPHANIE ELISE. THANK YOU, DOCTOR ELISE FOR COMING TONIGHT. THANK YOU. HEY, AGAIN, UH, AS ALWAYS, THANK YOU FOR HAVING ME DOCTOR SMITH.

NICE TO MEET YOU. I HAVE A PACKET FOR YOU. THEY ALREADY HAVE ONE. UM, I'M DOCTOR.

STEPHANIE ELLIS, PROUD FOR BAND D, PARENT PSYCHOLOGIST, PRESIDENT OF THE FORT BEND PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSOCIATION. I HAVE HEARD THAT BILL SCHEDULE HAS MOVED OUT OF CALENDAR COMMITTEE INTO STRATEGIC PLANNING. GREAT I'VE BEEN ON CALENDAR COMMITTEE FOR TWO YEARS , MOSTLY ABOUT CONVENIENCE AND POPULAR OPINION, NOT NECESSARILY A BAD THING. BUT IN THIS CASE, POPULAR OPINION IS NOT INFORMED OPINION. UM FOR OUR HIGH SCHOOLERS, POPULAR OPINION IS PROMOTING TARDINESS, LOW GRADUATION RATES, ANXIETY, DEPRESSION, SUICIDAL THINKING OR COPING SKILLS, POOR DIETARY CHOICES, LESS EXERCISE CLASS OR PROBABLE BEHAVIOR, ACCIDENTS AND INJURIES AND DROWSY DRIVING CRASHES. PARENTS TEACHERS FOR IT STAFF DO NOT WANT THAT THEY MUST NOT KNOW. ALL RIGHT. UM, SO I EXPECT THAT STRATEGIC PLANNING IS THE RIGHT PLACE TO START TALKING ABOUT HIGH SCHOOL START TIMES. UM DIRECTLY SUPPORTIVE OF FOUR OUT OF THE FIVE CORE BELIEFS. UM BUT MORE ON THAT NEXT MONTH, BECAUSE THIS MONTH I HAVE SOME DATA TOO GOOD NOT TO SHARE. WHEN H ID CHANGED ITS HIGH SCHOOL START TIMES TO 830 IN 2018 END OF YEAR. APPROACHES OR MEETS GRADE LEVEL. STANDARD NUMBERS FOR HIGH SCHOOL ENGLISH ONE WENT FROM 52 TO 56% ENGLISH 254 TO 58% ALGEBRA 71 TO 74% AND BIOLOGY IS 75 TO 78% Y'ALL. THE DATA IS THERE AND WE'RE IGNORING IT TO THE DETRIMENT OF OUR STUDENTS, FACULTY AND STAFF AND COMMUNITY 30 SECONDS. ASK YOURSELVES OR ASK STRATEGIC PLANNING. IS THERE A SINGLE PLAN YOU'RE CONSIDERING FOR FOUR PENCE THAT IS POTENTIALLY COMPLETELY FREE. THAT RESEARCH IN OTHER COMMUNITIES SHOWS IS LIKELY TO BE APPROVED OF BY OVER 90% OF STAKEHOLDERS BY THE END OF ITS IMPLEMENTATION YEAR THAT WILL IMPROVE THE HEALTH SAFETY AND ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE OF THE 26,000 HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS.

THAT WE HAVE RIGHT NOW WITH SPECIAL BENEFITS TO TRADITIONALLY UNDERSERVED POPULATIONS. HOW MANY Y'ALL IT'S THERE. I'LL SEE YOU NEXT MONTH. TIME. THANK YOU. THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. THAT'S THE WAY I HAVE ITEMS STATURE. AIDEN'S STATURE. SORRY. THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. THANK YOU. MY NAME IS AIDAN STEER AND I'M A STUDENT ATHLETE AT STEPHEN F AUSTIN. I PLAY VARSITY FOOTBALL AND I'M HERE TO SPEAK ON BEHALF OF ONE OF MY COACHES. NOT ONLY AM I WILLING TO SPEAK ON THEIR BEHALF, BUT MANY OF OUR STUDENT ATHLETES AT MY SCHOOL ARE WILLING TO QUIT THE SPORT AND PROTEST TERMINATING HIM WOULD BE ONE OF THE BIGGEST TRAGEDIES THE MALE ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT THAT YOU COULD CREATE. NOT ONLY IS HE A FOOTBALL COACH, HE IS A FATHER, NOT JUST TO HIS SONS AND DAUGHTERS, BUT TO ME AND MANY OTHER ATHLETES AT OUR SCHOOL. I SAY THIS BECAUSE HE TEACHES US MORE LIFE LESSONS THAN ANY OTHER SCHOOL TEACHER COULD I'VE WATCHED HIM BELIEVE IN KIDS' FUTURES, WHO DIDN'T EVEN BELIEVE IN IT THEMSELVES. I'VE BEEN A PART OF A CULTURE CHANGE IN AUSTIN HIGH SCHOOL'S FOOTBALL TEAM. HE'S NOT ONLY BETTERED US ON THE FIELD, BUT MAKES US TAKE THE CLASSROOM MORE SERIOUSLY AND EVEN TELLS US TO STAY ACTIVE BY HELPING AROUND THE HOUSE ON REST DAYS. HE ENCOURAGED US TO BE YOUNG MEN AND HANDLE BUSINESS.

[00:30:04]

AS SUCH. I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE PROGRAM WOULD DO WITHOUT HIM, NOT JUST THE PROGRAM, BUT THE COMMUNITY OVER 50 PEOPLE SHOWED UP TO THE LAST MEETING IN SUPPORT, AND MAYBE EVEN MORE THIS TIME TERMINATING OR FORCING COACH TO LEAVE WOULD NOT JUST AFFECT US AS STUDENT ATHLETES, BUT THE COMMUNITY AS A WHOLE BECAUSE OF COACHES, GUIDANCE AND DEDIC. AND SUPPORT. I CAN SEE MANY MORE POSSIBILITIES IN MY FUTURE. HE REDEFINED TO ME WHAT A GOOD COACH IS. IT'S NOT SOMEONE WHO JUST HELPS YOU WIN MORE GAMES. IT'S SOMEONE WHO WANTS YOU TO SUCCEED OFF THE FIELD. AND AFTER YOU GRADUATE, HE CARES ABOUT US MORE THAN HIS JOB REQUIRES THE DAY HE TOLD US ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED THAT NIGHT. THERE WERE POSTERS, T SHIRTS AND A COMMUNITY STANDING BEHIND HIM WILLING TO FIGHT UNTIL THE END, BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT HE WOULD DO FOR US. IT'S WHAT HE DESERVES.

NOT ONLY THAT, FIRING HIM WOULDN'T JUST HURT HIM. IT WOULD DESTROY EVERYTHING THAT WE'VE BUILT. COACHES WOULDN'T FEEL THAT THEIR JOB IS SECURE ANYMORE AND WOULD LOOK ELSEWHERE.

ATHLETES WOULDN'T FEEL A CONNECTION TO THE SPORT ANYMORE, CONSIDERING WE WOULD HAVE HAD A COACHING STAFF CHANGE TWO YEARS AGO. YOU'VE ALREADY TAKEN SPRING FOOTBALL FROM US. DON'T TAKE OUR COACH, TOO. YOU CAN ALWAYS FIND ANOTHER JOB, BUT WE CAN NEVER FIND ANOTHER COACH LIKE HIM.

THANK YOU. THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. THANK YOU. AND THAT'S THAT WE HAVE A CHRISTIAN HERRERA. CHRISTIAN HERRERA. OH THANK YOU. THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. THANK YOU. MY NAME IS CHRISTIAN MORAN HERRERA. AND I'M , A P TECH EARLY COLLEGE STUDENT AT THE WILLOW RIDGE HIGH SCHOOL AND IRON POWDER, UH, EXPRESS THE CONCERNS OF MY SCHOOL REGARDING OUR VALEDICTORIAN. A COUPLE OF DAYS AGO, THE X PAGE OF DULLES HIGH SCHOOL POSTED A CONGRATULATIONS TO THREE VALEDICTORIANS. NOW, HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT DULLES HAS FOUR VALEDICTORIANS Z SCHOOLS? WELL E DISTRICT'S RANK POLICY ALLOWS IT AS I CONGRATULATE THE, UH BY VICTORIAN OF WIC HIGH SCHOOL FOR BEING RANKED THE NUMBER ONE AT THE BEST HIGH SCHOOL EVER BUILT. THE WILLIE RICH, HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 2024. PHIL WAS ROBBED OF A MALI I CAN SAY THE SAME THING ABOUT OUR FRIENDS OF MARSHALL AND S HIGH SCHOOL. HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT MY VALEDICTORIAN HAS NEVER STEPPED FOOT INSIDE OF MY SCHOOL? THAT THEY HAVE NEVER PASSED BY THE WILLOW RIDGE WALL OF HONOR. OR ENGAGE IN ANY OF OUR TRADITIONS. IT IS PUSHING HIM TO KNOW THAT A WILLOWRIDGE EAGLE WORKS SO HARD TO BE AT THE TOP OF OUR CLASS FOR YEARS. JUST TO KNOW THAT THAT POSITION WAS TAKEN AWAY FROM THEM BECAUSE OF POLICY. MAY 25TH IS SUPPOSED TO BE A DAY OF CELEBRATION WHERE WE OFFICIALLY ENTER THE REAL WORLD. EVEN THOUGH THE CELEBRATIONS WILL STILL TAKE PLACE. IT SERVED FOR MANY AS AN EMBARRASSMENT FOR ANY SCHOOL DISTRICT TO ANNOUNCE A VALEDICTORIAN OF A SCHOOL THAT WASN'T ACT WAS NOT ACTUALLY A STUDENT AT THAT SCHOOL. HOWEVER THE WILLERS COMMUNITY IS ALREADY USED THIS KIND OF THINGS WE FEEL NEGLECTED, ABANDONED AND AS FOR A GRANDCHILD WHETHER IT IS A PLACE WHERE WE PREPARE PEOPLE FOR THE REAL WORLD AND TO BELIEVE IN POSSIBILITIES. FULL OF SMART AND BRIGHT YOUNG ADULTS THAT 30 SECONDS WELL, THE CO COLOR SILVER AND BLUE NOT TO MENTION THE PRODUCT GROUP OF ALUMNI AND THE DISTRICT. EVEN THOUGH MY SHIP HAS SAILED, MY VIATOR WILL STAY AT THEIR POSITION. I ASKED THE BOARD TO ACT ON THIS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

LAST YEAR, UH, GRADUATION PRESIDENT DAY MENTIONED. THIS IS THE WHY THE BOARD THE VOTES OUR TIME ATTENTION, EFFORT AND ENERGY TO THE DISTRICT. SO I ASKED THE BOARD TO DEVOTE TIME ATTENTION EFFORT TO THE ENERGY AND ENERGY TO WILLOWRIDGE MARSTON ELKINS NOT WAIT TO TURN 28 TO FIX THIS ISSUE. PLEASE. THEY'RE NOT IGNORING WILLOW RIDGE HIGH SCHOOL. THANK YOU.

THANK YOU. NEXT. WE HAVE A HUGE ROSE HILL ROSE. THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. THANK YOU. GOOD EVENING BEFORE I BEGIN. I WOULD LIKE TO THANK ALL OF YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME. TO LISTEN TO US AS WE EXPRESS OUR STRONGEST SUPPORT FOR OUR COACH. MY NAME IS HUGH ROSE AND I STAND BEFORE YOU NOT ONLY AS A SENIOR AT AUSTIN HIGH SCHOOL, BUT AS A PROUD MEMBER OF OUR FOOTBALL PROGRAM FOR ALL FOUR YEARS OF MY HIGH SCHOOL JOURNEY. AS A THREE YEAR VARSITY STARTER AND A TWO TIME TEAM CAPTAIN. I HAVE WITNESSED THE EVOLUTION OF OUR PROGRAM FIRSTHAND. MY SOPHOMORE YEAR MARKED A WINLESS SEASON WITH US FINISHING HAVING ZERO WINS AND 10 LOSSES. MY JUNIOR YEAR, WE IMPROVED SLIGHTLY ACCUMULATING A RECORD OF TWO AND EIGHT BUT STILL WITH ZERO WINS IN DISTRICT PLAY. MY SENIOR YEAR . IN OUR FIRST YEAR WITH OUR NEW COACHING STAFF, WE IMPROVED SIGNIFICANTLY AND HELD A RECORD OF FIVE AND FIVE, INCLUDING FOUR WINS IN DISTRICT. THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME SINCE 2014 THAT THIS FEAT WAS ACCOMPLISHED. IT SERVES AS A TESTAMENT TO HOW MUCH WE HAVE IMPROVED AS A PROGRAM OVER THE YEARS. AND I CAN PERSONALLY ATTRIBUTE MUCH OF OUR SUCCESS TO OUR COACH. FROM THE FIRST MOMENT THAT I STEPPED ON THE FIELD COACHES, UNWAVERING BELIEF IN MY ABILITIES GAVE ME THE CONFIDENCE TO PUSH MYSELF BEYOND MY LIMITS. HIS DEDICATION TO CHALLENGING ME ALLOWED ME TO BECOME THE BEST VERSION OF MYSELF BOTH ON AND OFF THE FIELD. THE COACH'S IMPACT EXTENDS FAR BEYOND JUST MY PERSONAL JOURNEY. HE HAS BEEN THE DRIVING FORCE BEHIND OUR

[00:35:01]

TEAM'S SUCCESS, INSTILLING IN US THE VALUES OF DISCIPLINE, RESILIENCE AND TEAMWORK. IT WAS TIRELESS PASSION AND DEDICATION TO THE GAME AND HIS ATHLETES. HE HAS TRANSFORMED US NOT INTO JUST A TEAM OF FOOTBALL PLAYERS, BUT A FAMILY UNITED BY A COMMON GOAL TO WIN. AS I REFLECT ON THE IMPACT COACHES HAD ON ME AND OUR TEAM FILLED WITH APPRECIATION. HE HAS HELPED SHAPE ME INTO THE PERSON AND PLAYER THAT I AM TODAY AND I WILL FOREVER BE GRATEFUL. OUR COACH HAS DEDICATED HIMSELF WHOLEHEARTEDLY TO OUR SUCCESS. AND IT IS WITH ABSOLUTE CONVICTION THAT I OFFER MY STRONGEST RECOMMENDATION FOR COACH HERMAN TO REMAIN AT THE HELM OF THE AUSTIN HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL PROGRAM. THANK YOU. THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. THANK YOU. SO NEXT IN THE SPEAKER, UM, REGISTERED AS GUARDIAN OF A STUDENT. SO DOCTOR SMITH, I'M GOING TO ASK NEXT TIME. MAYBE WE CAN HAVE A NAME. IT'S GONNA BE CONFUSING BUT GUARDIAN OF A STUDENT. THE TOPIC IS POSSIBLE CANCELLATION OF KICKSTART PROGRAM. SO. THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. THANK YOU.

OH, YEAH, OK. THANK YOU. WHEN? WHENEVER YOU'RE READY. THANK YOU FOR COMING. HELLO. MY NAME. IS LILY MCCONNELL AND I'M A KICKSTART STUDENT FROM DALLAS MIDDLE SCHOOL. I'M HERE TODAY TO TALK ABOUT THE POSITIVE IMPACT KICKSTART HAS HAD ON MY CONFIDENCE LEVEL. WHEN I STARTED AT DULLES IN EIGHTH IN SIXTH GRADE, I WAS REALLY SHY AND HATED, SPEAKING PUBLICLY OR DOING THINGS IN FRONT OF PEOPLE. IT FREAKED ME OUT. AS THE YEAR PROGRESSED, I STARTED BECOMING BETTER, AND MY INSTRUCTOR ENCOURAGED ALL OF US TO GO OUT AND COMPETE. I DID AND ENDED UP QUALIFYING FOR THE NEXT TOURNAMENT WHEN I PLACE THE QUALIFIERS THAT SHOWED ME THAT I WAS AT LEAST DECENT AT SOMETHING I KEPT WORKING, AND I GOT TO THE STATE TOURNAMENT WHERE I PLACED FIRST AND WON A STATE RING. AND MY SEVENTH GRADE YEAR. MY INSTRUCTOR ALSO ENCOURAGED ME TO DO KARATE TOURNAMENTS ALONG WITH THE KICKSTART TOURNAMENT. I AGREED, BUT I WAS TERRIFIED. I'M COMPETING SOMEWHERE NEW I WENT AND THE MORE I COMPETED, THE MORE COMFORTABLE I BECAME. IT DIDN'T ALWAYS DO AS WELL AS I WANTED AND THOSE COMPETITIONS, BUT MY NEW CONFIDENCE HELPED ME MOVE PAST THEM. THIS YEAR IN EIGHTH GRADE. I REMEMBER ASKING MY INSTRUCTOR ABOUT DOING MORE TOURNAMENTS AND HOW I WANTED TO COMPETE. I LIKE GOING TO COMPETE AND SHOWING OFF THE THINGS I'VE LEARNED. NOW I CAN GO OUT AND PERFORM AT BIGGER EVENTS OR SPEAK IN PUBLIC LIKE I'M DOING TODAY. THIS SPEECH TODAY WOULD NOT BE POSSIBLE WITHOUT KICKSTART AND I WANT TO SHARE THIS WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE AND POSITIVE IMPACT WITH OTHER STUDENTS. SO PLEASE KEEP KICKSTART AND FORT BEND ISD SCHOOLS. THANK YOU FOR LISTENING. THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. THANK YOU. THAT WE HAVE. MICHAEL DONATE MICHAEL OKAY. THANK YOU. THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. THANK YOU. GOOD EVENING. MY NAME IS D. MICHAEL AND I'M A KICKSTART KID AT DULLES MIDDLE SCHOOL. I'LL ADMIT MY FIRST DAY OF MIDDLE SCHOOL WAS SCARY. THE THOUGHT OF MOVING TO A WHOLE DIFFERENT STATE GOING TO A NEW SCHOOL MAKING NEW FRIENDS. IT SCARED ME. BUT WHAT SEEMED LIKE A MINOR, IRRELEVANT PROGRAM ENDED UP CREATING UNBREAKABLE FRIENDSHIPS THAT LASTED ALL THROUGHOUT MIDDLE SCHOOL. NOT TOO LONG AGO WAS THE KICKSTART REGIONAL TOURNAMENT WHERE I SAW ONE OF MY FRIENDS CRYING OVER, NOT PLACING IN SOMETHING SHE WAS SO PASSIONATE ABOUT. I WAS SHOCKED, SEEING AS SHE HAD BEEN GETTING TO SCHOOL AT 7:30 A.M. AND LEAVING AT 7 P.M. ALMOST EVERY DAY, USING ALL THE EXTRA TIME SHE HAD TO PRACTICE. SHE WAS DEVASTATED AND DIDN'T WANT TO DO ANY MORE DIVISIONS. BUT MY FRIENDS AND I GATHERED AROUND HER FOR WHAT SEEMED LIKE AN ETERNITY, TELLING HER HOW SHE COULD GET SO FAR AND GIVE UP. SHE HAD THE ABILITY TO WIN AND SHE KNEW IT. WE DIDN'T GET UP UNTIL WE KNEW FOR A FACT SHE WAS GOING TO OUR NEXT DIVISION. IN THAT MOMENT, WE ALL LEARNED WHAT TRUE FRIENDSHIP MEANT. STICKING BY EACH OTHER'S SIDE AND MAKING SURE NO BATTLES ARE FOUGHT ALONE. NO MATTER THE SITUATION AND NO MATTER WHAT FRIEND IT IS. KICKSTART HOLDS A VALUED ROLE IN OUR LIVES. EVERY PUNCH AND KICK IN THAT KICK START CLASSROOM ARE PRESENTED ONE MORE LIFELONG MEMORY, LAUGHING WITH FRIENDS, WINNING AND LOSING TOURNAMENTS TO TURNED INTO FRIENDSHIPS THAT BECAME THE HEART OF OUR MIDDLE SCHOOL YEARS. KICKSTART IS SO MUCH MORE THAN A KARATE PROGRAM. IT'S A PLACE TO SHARE MEMORIES, CREATE FRIENDSHIPS AND BUILD DREAMS. THANK YOU. THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. SO NEXT SPEAKER. I UH I APOLOGIZE IN ADVANCE IF I SEE YOUR NAME WRONG. SORRY RENA RAHAL. THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. THANK YOU. BOARD MEMBERS OF FORT BISD. MY NAME IS RENA RAJ AND I AM A CURRENT CURRENT SIXTH GRADER AT SAROS MIDDLE SCHOOL, AND I AM HERE TO ASK YOU TO RETHINK THE DECISION

[00:40:06]

OF MAKING KICKSTART AND ELECTIVE AND TO KEEP IT AS A PE ALTERNATIVE FOR ALL MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS KICKSTART AS IMPACTED SO MANY PEOPLE'S LIVES. KAR TEACHES US HOW TO PROTECT OURSELVES IN THE REAL WORLD. BUT KICKSTART ALSO TEACHES US TO BE STRONG LEADERS, GOOD TEAM MEMBERS, RESPECTFUL STUDENTS AND MUCH MORE MAKING KICKSTART AN ELECTIVE IS LIKE GIVING A YOUNG CHILD THE DECISION TO EAT. ICE CREAM OR CAKE. THEY ARE BOTH GREAT AND AMAZING TREATS. BUT THE CHILD CANNOT DECIDE ON WHICH ONE TO EAT. SAVE FOR ALL THESE COOKS, OUR STUDENTS WHO MUST EITHER DROP AN ELECTIVE THAT THEY CHOOSE OR THEY PICK UP WHICH IS ALREADY A PROGRAM THAT WAS A PE ALTERNATIVE. WE HAVE CREATED A PETITION ABOUT THIS ISSUE WITH ABOUT 1200 SIGNATURES IN JUST THREE DAYS. NOW HERE I HAVE SOME WORDS FROM KICKSTART STUDENTS. PEOPLE CAN'T GIVE UP THEIR ELECTIVE, BUT THEY ALREADY GOT SO FAR KICKSTART. IT WOULD BE SAD TO GIVE IT UP. VIVIAN JOAN. KICKS SHOULD BE A PE ALTERNATIVE BECAUSE SOME PEOPLE DO NOT WANT TO BE IN PE KICKSTART CAN ALSO GIVE YOU THE EXERCISE NEEDED JUST LIKE IN PE. THERE IS NO REASON WHY KICKER SHOULD BE AN ELECTIVE CAITLIN MO. KICKER HAS HELPED ME BY TEACHING ME SELF DEFENSE. IT ALSO GIVES US A CHANCE TO BE LOUD AND ACTIVE. SONIA SAMUEL KICKSTART IS MY LIFE. I'M SO PASSIONATE ABOUT KICKSTART BECAUSE IT WAS SOMETHING I AM REALLY GOOD AT WHEN I HEARD KICKSTART WAS GOING TO BECOME AN ELECTIVE. I WAS CRYING INSIDE. I WAS AN EXCELLENT STUDENT IN KICKSTARTER. I GOT ALL MY STRIPES AND I'M ON 30 SECONDS. ABOUT RANK KICKSTARTER IS A REALLY GOOD ALTERNATIVE TO PEOPLE WHO DO NOT LIKE PACER OR HAVE ASTHMA. PLEASE BRING KICKSTART BACK. MINO. IT WOULD BE A SHAME FOR ALL THESE KIDS WHO DON'T GET TO EXPERIENCE IT.

THE INVOLVEMENT OF KICKSTART IN OUR LIVES LEAVES LASTING IMPRESSIONS, STRESSING KEY VIRTUES THAT WILL STAY TILL OUR LAST BREATHS DREW ON S. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME. THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. THANK YOU. NEXT. WE HAVE LISA GOMEZ. THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. THANK YOU.

HELLO MY NAME IS NYSA. GOMES AND I AM A STUDENT OF THE KICKSTART KIDS PROGRAM. I WANT TO EXPLAIN TO YOU WHY KICKSTART SHOULD STAY AT PE ALTERNATIVE. WELL, LET'S SAY A KID THAT IS A PART OF KICKSTART AND A DEDICATED TO GO AS HIGH OF A BELL AS POSSIBLE AND AS AN ORCHESTRA IF THEY MADE IT INTO BROADCASTING JOURNALISM OR SOMETHING THAT ARE REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO, AND AT THE END OF THE SCHOOL YEAR, THEY ARE TOLD THAT KICKSTARTER IS BECOMING AN ELECTIVE THAT WILL HURT THE CHILD'S FEELINGS AND PUT THEM UNDER STRESS AND THE COUNSELORS THEY WILL HAVE TO REDO ALL OF THE STUDENTS ELECTIVES. MOST PEOPLE MIGHT SAY THAT IT IS NECESSARY THAT ALL KIDS GO OUTSIDE AND DO PACE OR EVERY WEEK. BUT IF YOU CHANGE TO KICKSTART TO AN ELECTIVE THAN KIDS WHO ARE DEDICATED TO HAVE AT LEAST TWO YEARS OF THE KICKSTART PROGRAM WILL HAVE TO DO KICKSTART AND PE AND THAT WILL TIRE KIDS OUT. ALSO THE HIGHER BELT. YOU R, THE HEART, THE HIGHER THE HARDER TECHNIQUES YOU WILL HAVE TO LEARN, AND YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO DO IT BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO DO P OR RUN THE TRAIL NOW, NOW THAT THE SIXTH GRADERS HAVE SECOND CHOICE AND THEY GOT INTO SOMETHING THAT THEY WILL NEVER WANT TO GIVE UP. THEY WON'T TAKE KICK START NEXT YEAR, AND IF THEY ARE NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE, THEN THE PROGRAM WILL CONTINUE. I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE THAT CAME UP HERE AND SPEAK, SPOKE WITH ALL THEIR COURAGE AND BRAVERY TO SPEAK. I HOPE YOU WILL DO SOMETHING ABOUT MY WORDS AND FOR KICKSTART. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME. THANK YOU FOR COMING.

THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. THANK YOU. AND THAT'S THAT WE HAVE ZACH AS SURE. OH, HE DID OKAY. SO NEXT WE HAVE SAVANNAH SMITH. THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. THANK YOU FOR HAVING ME. GOOD EVENING, DOCTOR SMITH, PRESIDENT DAY AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES. MY NAME IS SAVANNAH.

BALLARD SMITH. I'M A FORT BENNYS D ALUMNI, PARENT AND CURRENT SPOUSE. I HAVE BEEN A PART OF FORT BEN I SINCE I WAS QUITE LITERALLY FIVE YEARS OLD. I WANT TO EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU TO TAKE A LOOK AT THE YOUNG MEN SITTING BEHIND ME AND THE DOZENS OUT IN THE HALLWAY BECAUSE I KNOW YOU CAN HEAR THEM. THESE ARE THE YOUNG MEN WHOSE DECISION THAT Y'ALL MAKE WILL AFFECT THEIR LIVES TONIGHT. THE INJUSTICE OF THIS SITUATION BROUGHT ON BY AN ADMINISTRATION THAT I ONCE LOOKED UP TO AND RESPECTED AS UNBELIEVABLE. CHOOSING TO TERMINATE SOMEONE FROM THEIR JOB RATHER THAN ADDRESSING AND CORRECTING THE UNDERLYING ISSUES. SEEMS LIKE A SHORTCUT AND QUITE HONESTLY, THE EASY WAY OUT. TO PUNISH THIS MAN AT THE SAME LEVEL AS A MORE SERIOUS EVENTS, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU HAVE COACHES THAT CUSS STUDENTS OUT AND PUT THEIR HANDS ON OTHERS. IT'S NOT OK. THE FACT THAT INTERVIEWS HAVE ALREADY BEEN SET UP FOR THIS MAN'S JOB BEFORE A DECISION HAS COME TONIGHT IS UNBELIEVABLE, AND, QUITE FRANKLY, EMBARRASSING.

[00:45:05]

SORRY APOLOGIES. KNOWING AUSTIN HAS STRUGGLED TO OBTAIN AND RETAIN COACHES AND TEACHERS THROUGHOUT THE YEARS IS NOT ENCOURAGING. ANYBODY IN THIS SITUATION? I SPEAK FOR SEVERAL GROUPS OF PEOPLE WHEN I SAY THE WHOLE AUSTIN HIGH SCHOOL COMMUNITY PARENTS, STUDENTS AND TEACHERS WE STAND WITH COACH THANK YOU. THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. THAT'S THE WAY HAVE JOSHUA SILBERMAN. JOSHUA YEAH. THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU BOTH. GOOD EVENING. MY NAME IS JOSH SILBERMAN. AND THIS IS MY DAUGHTER, HELENA. AND WE ARE HERE TO SPEAK TODAY IN SUPPORT OF KEEPING KICKSTART KIDS AS A PE CREDIT IN FORT BEND, ISD. NOW WHEN YOU THINK ABOUT THE FORT BEND ISD PROFILE OF A GRADUATE, I ALSO WANT YOU TO THINK ABOUT THE KICKSTART KIDS VALUES CURRICULUM, HONESTY, LOYALTY, COURAGEOUS, DISCIPLINED, RESPECTFUL, DEDICATED KIND AND RESPONSIBLE. THERE IS A CORRELATION HERE. NOW LET'S FOCUS ON HONESTY. I SPOKE WITH SOMEONE IN FORT BEND ISD. WHO TOLD ME THIS WAS A TE A DECISION. THAT IS NOT ACCURATE. TE A HAS NOT RELEASED A SINGLE STATEMENT DECLARATION OR ANNOUNCEMENT ANNOUNCING THIS CHANGE. SAYING THAT OUTSIDE PROGRAMS CANNOT BE PE CREDITS.

HOUSTON ISD, ALVIN ISD, GALVESTON, ISD FREVILLE ISD, CARROLLTON FARMERS BRANCH IST EL PASO, ISD ALL AROUND THE STATE. THEY ARE NOT ONLY KEEPING THIS PROGRAM AS PE. THEY ARE EXPANDING IT TO MORE CAMPUSES. NOW, IF THIS IS A DISTRICT BASED DECISION I IMPLORE EACH OF YOU.

THIS IS A DECISION THAT HURTS KIDS. AND NONE OF YOU. WANT TO HURT KIDS WITH THE DECISIONS YOU MAKE. I KNOW MANY OF YOU AND I KNOW THAT IS WHAT IS IN YOUR HEART. IN CLOSING. I WANNA GO BACK TO MY DAUGHTER WHO STANDS BESIDE ME 30 SECONDS LAST YEAR, THE FIRST YEAR KICKSTART STUDENT SHE REPRESENTED HER SENSE HER SCHOOL AND THIS DISTRICT IN COMPETITIONS AND BROUGHT HOME A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP. IN TWO WEEKS IN IRVING, TEXAS. SHE ALONG WITH MANY OF HER FELLOW STUDENTS FROM MULTIPLE CAMPUSES IN FORT BEND, ISD. WILL REPRESENT THEIR SENSES THEIR SCHOOLS IN THIS DISTRICT AND THE STATE TOURNAMENT AND HOPEFULLY WE'LL BRING HOME CHAMPIONSHIPS AS WELL. I CHALLENGE EACH OF YOU IN THE NEXT FEW WEEKS GO TO THE BELT CEREMONIES ON THE CAMPUSES SEE THE PRIDE THESE KIDS FEEL. TIME. THANK YOU. THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. THANK YOU. AND THAT'S THE WAY I HAVE. AMBER RENA. THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. THANK YOU. I COME BEFORE YOU TONIGHT IN DEFENSE OF A FOOTBALL COACH AT AUSTIN HIGH SCHOOL THAT WAS BULLIED INTO RESIGNING IN FEAR OF TERMINATION. THIS COACH WAS GIVEN A SHORT TIME TO MAKE A DECISION THAT COULD CHANGE HIS LIFE WITH NO REAL CONCRETE DETAILS OF WHY THE DECISION NEEDED TO BE MADE. OTHER INDIVIDUALS WHO WERE INVOLVED RECEIVED MORE APPROPRIATE DISCIPLINE FOR THE EVENT THAN THIS COACH. I DON'T WANT TO POINT FINGERS OR SAY ONE WAS MORE AT FAULT THAN ANOTHER. I JUST WANT TO SPEND SOME TIME HIGHLIGHTING WHAT WE'RE MOVING THIS COACH FROM AUSTIN HIGH SCHOOL COULD DO TO THE FAMILIES AT AUSTIN SERVES AND NINE SHORT MONTHS SINCE BEING HIRED AT IN HIGH SCHOOL. IT'S NOW A DIFFERENT PLACE FOR MANY YOUNG MEN THAN WHAT IT WAS BEFORE.

LAST SUMMER, THIS COACH AND HIS MENTORSHIP STYLE OF LEADERSHIP HAS DONE GREAT THINGS TO CHANGE THE CULTURE OF AUSTIN ATHLETICS AS A WHOLE. THIS COACH SPENDS COUNTLESS HOURS WITH THE COACHES AND PLAYERS TO DEVELOP PROGRAMS THAT TEACH ALL INVOLVED THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING A TEAM AND WHAT THAT MEANS BOTH ON AND OFF THE FIELD. THIS COACH WORKS TO DEVELOP A WELL ROUNDED PLAYER WHO EXCELS BOTH ON THE FIELD AND IN THE CLASSROOM. HE TRULY UNDERSTANDS THE TERM STUDENT ATHLETE AND GOES ABOVE AND BEYOND. TO HELP THESE BOYS SUCCEED. HE HAS DEVELOPED A LEADERSHIP PROGRAM THAT ALLOWS THESE POISED TO MEET WEEKLY AND HOLD EACH OTHER ACCOUNTABLE ON THE FIELD IN THE CLASSROOM AND IN LIFE. THESE BOYS ARE LEARNING WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED IN THE WORLD OUTSIDE OF SPORTS. MOST COACHES YOU MEET WILL WILL WORK WITH JUST THEIR TOP ATHLETES TO SEE THEM SUCCEED AND MAKE A NAME FOR THAT COACH. HOWEVER THIS COACH DOES NOT OPERATE THIS WAY.

HE WANTS TO SEE ALL HIS KIDS SUCCEED AND WORKS WITH EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM THAT WANT HIS HELP. HE SPENDS COUNTLESS HOURS BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS WITH PEOPLE IN VARIOUS HIGHER EDUCATION POSITIONS IN ORDER TO HELP THESE BOYS WITH THEIR LIFE AFTER HIGH SCHOOL. I HAVE KNOWN THIS COACH FOR OVER 25 YEARS. WATCHED HIM CLIMB THE COACHING LADDER BEING THE YOUNGEST HEAD FOOTBALL COACH IN TEXAS WHEN HE LANDED HIS FIRST JOB. EACH SCHOOL THAT HE HAS BEEN A PART OF HAS BEEN ABLE TO FLOURISH UNDER HIS MENTORSHIP STYLE OF COACHING. SOMETIMES IT'S NOT ABOUT THE SPORT. SOMETIMES IT'S ABOUT BEING THERE FOR A KID THAT NEEDS YOU. BEING A COACH IS A HUGE RESPONSIBILITY. AND OFTENTIMES THESE COACHES BECOME FATHER FIGURES TO THESE YOUNG MEN IN ONE OF THE PROGRAMS THIS COACH HAS WORKED WORKED AT ONE OF HIS PLAYERS WAS A CHILD OF

[00:50:05]

THE STATE LIVING IN A GROUP HOME. NOT FAR FROM THE SCHOOL. THIS YOUNG MAN HAD NO FAMILY COMING TO HIS GAMES OR PEOPLE TO SPEND HOLIDAYS WITH. THIS COACH COULD TOOK TIME OUT OF HIS LIFE AND HIS CHILDREN TO BRING THIS CHILD TO HOME AND SHARE THAT HOLIDAY WITH THEM. THIS ISN'T A COACH THAT TAKES ITS POSITION LIGHTLY. THIS IS THE MAN THAT LOVES WHAT HE DOES, AND IS HONORED TO WATCH THE KIDS THAT HE HAS MENTORED ALONG THE WAY. THE BOTTOM LINE IS THAT AS PROFESSIONALS, YOU'RE ALWAYS LEARNING. THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. THANK YOU. NEXT. WE HAVE JACKIE LAMBERTI. JACKIE LAMBERTI.

AFTER JACKIE, WE HAVE, UH CALEB SANDERS.

HE'S NOT HERE. OKAY SO NEXT WE HAVE CALEB SANDERS. THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. THANK YOU.

THANK YOU. I WOULD JUST LIKE TO SAY THANK YOU TO EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME TO HEAR WHAT I HAVE TO SAY REGARDING THE COACH AT AUSTIN HIGH SCHOOL. WHEN I STARTED FOOTBALL IN MIDDLE SCHOOL, I WOULD HEAR ABOUT AUSTIN FOOTBALL FROM THEM BEING AN O AND 10 SCHOOL TO THERE BEING NO POINT IN EVEN PLAYING IN THE FIRST PLACE. AS I WENT INTO HIGH SCHOOL, I DECIDED TO GIVE IT A TRY BECAUSE OF HOW MUCH I LOVED THE GAME. BUT UNFORTUNATELY, THE THINGS I HEARD WERE ALL TRUE. MOVING TO MY SOPHOMORE YEAR, A NEW COACH BROUGHT LIFE AND HOPE TO THE PROGRAM. HE BUILT A COMMUNITY THAT I HAD NEVER SEEN AT AUSTIN AND IN JUST A FEW SHORT MONTHS. BECAME COMPETITORS IN THE DISTRICT. MORE IMPORTANTLY, WE BUILT A BROTHERHOOD WITH EACH AND EVERY ONE OF OUR TEAMMATES. THIS COACH NOT ONLY MADE US BETTER PLAYERS, BUT BETTER MEN, BETTER PEOPLE. HE GAVE US LESSONS IN LIFE THAT CARRY ON WAY PAST FOOTBALL, SUCH AS LEARNING TO KEEP YOURSELF ACCOUNTABLE, BETTER TIME MANAGEMENT AND HOW TO BE A TRUE LEADER. I PRAY THIS COACH CAN CONTINUE TO BUILD ON WHAT IS ESTABLISHED HERE AT AUSTIN BECAUSE HE PUTS ALL INTO WHAT HE DOES. WE CAN TRULY NOT BE THE SAME TEAM WITHOUT HIM. THANK YOU. THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. THANK YOU. THAT'S THE WE HAVE MONICA. BUY IN. MONICA, MONICA. BYE. YEAH. THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. GOOD EVENING. MY NAME IS MONICA BAY. AND I'M THE LIBRARIAN AT WILLOW RIDGE HIGH SCHOOL. I'M ALSO AN ACTIVE MEMBER OF THE TEXAS LIBRARY ASSOCIATION, WHERE I HAVE SERVED ON SEVERAL COMMITTEES AND EVEN CHAIRED A FEW OF THEM A FEW WEEKS AGO, I WAS ALSO ELECTED TO THE EXECUTIVE BOARD OF THE TEXAS LIBRARY ASSOCIATION. SO TONIGHT.

I WOULD LIKE TO COMMEND THE BOARD ON ITS DECISION TO SEEK INPUT FROM LIBRARIANS BEFORE MAKING ANY CHANGES TO A POLICY THAT ALREADY COMPLIES WITH THE NEW SCHOOL LIBRARY STANDARDS MANDATED BY HB 900 THIS DAY. I WANNA SAY THAT YOUR STORY ABOUT GROWING UP IN COMMUNIST CHINA REALLY AFFECTED ME. MY FAMILY, UM, SURVIVED GERMANY JUST TO THEN GO THROUGH 45 YEARS OF COMMUNISM. SO I UNDERSTAND WHERE YOU'RE COMING FROM. SO MOVING FORWARD. I ASK THAT THE DISTRICT INCREASE TRANSPARENCY WHEN IT COMES TO BOOK CHALLENGES. KEEP IN MIND THAT SUBMITTED REQUESTS FOR RECONSIDERATION ARE ALREADY SUBJECT TO PUBLIC INFORMATION REQUESTS. IT MAKES MORE SENSE TO PROACTIVELY POST THIS INFORMATION ONLINE UPON SUBMISSION OF A REQUEST FOR RECONSIDERATION THAN IT DOES TO REQUIRE A PARENT TO FILE OPEN RECORDS REQUESTS SO THEY CAN KEEP UP WITH WHAT IS GOING ON IN THEIR CHILD'S SCHOOL LIBRARY. THE COMMUNITY HAS A RIGHT TO KNOW WHAT BOOKS ARE BEING CHALLENGED AND FOR WHAT REASONS ESPECIALLY SINCE REMOVING BOOKS FROM SCHOOL LIBRARIES HAS IMPLICATIONS FOR STUDENTS TAKING THE A P LITERATURE EXAM. THE COMMUNITY ALSO HAS A RIGHT TO KNOW EXACTLY WHAT CRITERIA REVIEW COMMITTEES MUST TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION WHEN DECIDING WHETHER A BOOK MEETS ALL THREE PARTS OF THE MILLER TEST. FOR

[00:55:01]

THIS REASON, THE DISTRICT SHOULD ALSO POST ON ITS WEBSITE. THE RECONSIDERATION RUBRIC USED BY BOOK REVIEW COMMITTEES, LET THE COMMUNITY HAVE A SOLID UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT THESE COMMITTEES ARE LOOKING FOR, AND DEMONSTRATE THE DISTRICT'S COMMITMENT TO TRANSPARENCY BY POSTING THIS INFORMATION ONLINE. THANK YOU. THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. THAT'S THE WAY IT HAPPENED. MARY MCNEAL, MARY MCNEIL. DO WE HAVE MARY? MAYBE I'LL YEAH. MARY MCNEAL. NO, OK.

NEXT WE HAVE MOHAMMAD HOSSAIN. NEVER CHECKED IN.

NEXT. WE HAVE TRACY DENNIS. DO WE HAVE A TRACY GANIS? THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. THANK YOU.

GOOD EVENING, DOCTOR SMITH. RESPECTED BOARD MEMBERS. MY NAME IS TRACY GAINS. I'M A PARENT HERE IN FORT BENS D. I'M HERE TO RESPECTFULLY ASK YOU TO KEEP KICKSTART KIDS IN OUR MIDDLE SCHOOLS. KICKSTART KIDS PROMOTES ALL THE QUALITIES WE STRIVE FOR. IN OUR PROFILE OF A GRADUATE HERE IN FORT BEN, I KICKSTART KIDS HELPS BUILD STRONG CHARACTER IN OUR STUDENTS.

KICKSTART KIDS HELPS EQUIP OUR STUDENTS WITH SKILLS FOR LIFE, SUCH AS GRIT, PERSEVERANCE AND DETERMINATION. IT PROMOTES RESPECT FOR SELF AND OTHERS, INCLUDING PEERS, TEACHERS, SIBLINGS AND PARENTS, AMONG OTHERS. KICKSTART KIDS PROMOTES BEING A SERVANT LEADER BY BUILDING CONFIDENCE IN OUR STUDENTS WHILE STILL BEING HUMBLE. KICK START. KIDS PROMOTES BEING AN EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATOR BY REQUIRING THE STUDENTS TO LISTEN ACTIVELY TO THEIR INSTRUCTORS AND TEAMMATES AND ENGAGE IN APPROPRIATE, RESPECTFUL CONVERSATIONS WHILE WORKING AS A TEAM TO REACH THEIR SHARED GOAL. KICKSTART KIDS DEVELOPS CRITICAL THINKING IN COMPASSION AMONG OUR STUDENTS. THE KICKSTART KIDS. STUDENTS ARE HARD WORKING. DEPENDABLE KIND.

RESPECTFUL DEDICATED AND SELF DISCIPLINED. AS A PARENT OF TWO KICKSTART KIDS STUDENTS. I HAVE SEEN THE BENEFIT OF THIS PROGRAM FIRSTHAND. KICKSTART KIDS IS HELPED GROW MY CHILDREN'S CONFIDENCE AND BELIEF, BELIEF IN THEMSELVES. MY CHILDREN HAVE ALSO SEEN THE VALUE OF HARD WORK AND PERSEVERANCE. MY MIDDLE SCHOOLER EARNED THE RIGHT TO REPRESENT HER MIDDLE SCHOOL AT THE STATE LEVEL IN KICKSTART ON MAY 4 IN DALLAS. SHE IS PROUD OF HER HARD WORK AND HAS SEEN THE BENEFIT OF IT. PLEASE PLEASE KEEP KICKSTART KIDS IN OUR MIDDLE SCHOOLS. IT IS ABSOLUTELY BENEFICIAL FOR OUR STUDENTS. THANK YOU. THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT AND THANK YOU. NEXT WE HAVE KATHLEEN YOLANDE. THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. THANK YOU. THANK YOU BOARD FOR ALLOWING ME TO SPEAK IN PUBLIC COMMENT. MY NAME IS KATHLEEN YOLANDE AND I'M A PROUD PARENT SUPPORTING TO KEEP KICKSTART KIDS AS AN ALTERNATIVE TO PHYSICAL EDUCATION CLASS AND NOT AS AN ELECTIVE. LAST THURSDAY, I RECEIVED AN EMAIL REGARDING WHERE THE TEXAS EDUCATION AGENCY T A NO LONGER ALLOWS KICKSTART KIDS TO OFFER IN PLACE A PHYSICAL EDUCATION. MY CHILD IS A DETERMINED EITHER TAKE KICKSTART KIDS AS AN ELECTIVE OR TAKE IT AS A PE CLASS DAILY SINCE ONLY YEARS AGO, I HAD DISCOVERED THESE REGULATIONS DO NOT IMPACT OTHER KICKSTART PROGRAMS ACROSS THE STATE OF TEXAS. HOWEVER THE CHOICE TO SELECT KICKSTART ONLY AS AN ELECTIVE OR TAKE A PE IS ONLY IMPACTING OUR DISTRICT OF FORT BEN SD. WHAT HAS HAPPENED? I THOUGHT TO MYSELF. THEY DID, UH, JULY 28TH 2023, THE TE. A PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY HAD A FREQUENT ASKED QUESTIONS WHERE IT STATES SCHOOL DISTRICTS ARE REQUIRED TO TEACH ALL OF THE PE TEXT. THAT I WAS TAKEN TO ANOTHER DOCUMENT OF 19 TEXAS ADMINISTRATIVE CODE CHAPTER. 116 SUBCHAPTER B MIDDLE SCHOOL NOW THIS WAS DATED TWO YEARS BACK AUGUST 2022.

[01:00:02]

KICKSTART KIDS PROGRAM IS TRANSLATABLE TO WHAT THE DOCUMENT SPECIFICALLY LIST SUCH AS KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS OF WHAT KICKSTART IS MOVE AT PATTERNS AND SKILLS WHERE THE STUDENT MASTERS A SERIES OF MOVEMENTS EITHER INDIVIDUALLY OR WITHIN A GROUP, MANIPULATIVE SKILLS, SUCH AS SKILLS LIKE THROWING TO A MOVING TARGET, A WAY OF HOW TO DEFEND THEMSELVES IF NEED BY BY BODIES, THEIR OWN BODIES OR WEAPONS. I WOULD LIKE TO END WITH A QUOTE OF THOSE THAT SUPPORT THE KICKSTART KIDS PROGRAM, SO WE ARE COMMITTED TO CREATING AN EDUCATION.

ENVIRONMENT NOT ONLY FOCUS ON ACADEMIC GROWTH, BUT ALSO EMPHASIZES THE SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT. THE PROGRAM SCENES ONLY GAINED FROM THIS PROGRAM FOR ALL STUDENTS ON A PERSONAL NOTE AS A PEDIATRIC NURSE IN THE HEALTH CARE FIELD, I BELIEVE ALLOWING THIS PROGRAM NOT ONLY TO BE PART OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION WILL INCREASE THE MENTAL CONCERNS. THIS PROGRAM HAS ONLY PROVIDED POSITIVE OUTCOMES, SOUNDING MENTAL HEALTH AS WELL AS EMPOWER ME. THANK YOU FOR THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. NEXT WE HAVE JEFF. FORAY. YOLANDE JEFFREY YOLANDE.

THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. THANK YOU. HELLO, BO. MY NAME IS JEFFREY LONGE. AND I'M HERE TO TALK ABOUT KICKSTART KIDS BECOMING AN ELECTIVE. KICKSTART KIDS NOT ONLY TAUGHT ME MARTIAL ARTS, BUT I ALSO HAS TAUGHT ME HOW TO BE MORE CONFIDENT IT HAS GAVE ME THE BIGGEST CONFIDENT BOOST YOU COULD EVER SEE WHEN I STARTED SIXTH GRADE. I I DON'T DIDN'T EVEN WANNA SCREAM IN FRONT OF MY INSTRUCTOR. BUT LOOK AT ME NOW QUALIFIED FOR STATE CHAMPIONSHIP MAY 4TH IN IRVING DALLAS. KICKSTART KIDS IS MORE PHYSICAL EDUCATION TO ME THAN PE . I'M IN HEALTH THIS SEMESTER.

SO MY HEALTH TEACHER ISN'T THERE HALF THE TIME, SO WE GO TO THE PE GYM. WHENEVER I LOOK AT PE, THEY'RE NOT PUSHED TO DO FREE PLAY. THEY'RE NOT PUSHED TO RUN DURING BEAR TRAIL, SO I ALWAYS ASK MYSELF, WILL I? YOU WILL I LOSE MY PROGRESSION IF I TAKE THIS CLASS TO ME, PHYSICAL EDUCATION IS MORE THAN JUST JUMPING, RUNNING OR EVEN STRETCHING, KICKSTART KICKSTART KIDS HAS TAUGHT ME HOW TO DO KICKING, PUNCHING AND ALL THE STUFF PE CAN DO. SO IF YOU MIGHT CONSIDER, PLEASE KEEP KICKSTART AS A PE ALTERNATIVE. THANK YOU. THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT.

THANK YOU. AND THAT'S THE WAY I HAVE. GREASY ARMSTEAD. TRACY. THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT.

THANK YOU. HERE IS THIS ONE. YES. UH GOOD EVENING. THANK THANK YOU FOR HAVING ME AS A KICKSTART KIDS INSTRUCTOR. I'VE HEARD YOU'VE HEARD MANY PEOPLE WORRIED TONIGHT AND I JUST WANT TO COME IN AND JUST BE VERY CLEAR. THE KICKSTART PROGRAM IS ONE OF THE MOST AMAZING THINGS TO TOUCH. FORT BEND TOUCH THE LIVES OF THESE CHILDREN TOUCH. THE INSTRUCTORS LIVES MYSELF. I BENEFITED FROM THIS ENORMOUSLY. MOST OF OUR INSTRUCTORS ARE PHENOMENALLY TALENTED INDIVIDUALS. THEY'RE PHYSICALLY NEAR SUPERHUMAN, WELL TRAVELED AND WELL ACCOMPLISHED, AND I JUST WANT TO TELL YOU ABOUT A FEW OF THEM WATCHING RIGHT NOW ON THIS LIVE STREAM IS LIKELY.

12 TIME WORLD CHAMPION JASON HOLMES AND HE'S OUR INSTRUCTOR AT LAKE OLYMPIA MIDDLE SCHOOL.

RIGHT AND DONNIE PIT WAY. ONE OF THE BEST COACHES ON PLANET EARTH , THE ENTIRE WORLD. HE IS THE INSTRUCTOR AT QUAIL VALLEY, AND HE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ONE OF HIS STUDENTS. UH, RONNIE GABRIEL BECOMING MISS UNIVERSE AND SPEAKING OF THE WORLD RIGHT NOW, WATCHING ON A LIVE STREAM IS A YOUNG LADY NAMED MORGAN SMITH. SHE IS THE INSTRUCTOR AT SASHA. SHE WAS A THREE TIME TEAM USA COMPETITION MEMBER COMPETED IN ATHENS COMPETED IN AUSTRIA COMPETED IN ITALY, AND SHE'S THE INSTRUCTOR AT S. MAYBE A LITTLE TOO WELL TRAVELED MAYBE A LITTLE TOO. WELL VERSED, BUT SHE IS TEACHING OUR KIDS WHO BETTER TO HAVE THAN SOMEONE THAT HAS SEEN EVERY CORNER OF THIS PLANET TO BE IN YOUR CHILD'S LIVES FIVE DAYS A WEEK AN HOUR AT A TIME OR MORE. RIGHT UNDERNEATH THAT, AND THE REASON SHE'S SO IMPORTANT IS HER JOURNEY STARTED IN THE SIXTH GRADE. LIKE ALL THE OTHER KIDS THAT CAME INTO THIS ROOM TODAY, HE STARTED AS 1/6 GRADER CHRISTINA SABO ADVA PRODUCT, A TWO TIME TEAM USA MEMBER, BUT ADRIANA HERNANDEZ. UH, US. OH, I'M SORRY. A TEAM MEXICO PRODUCT. SHE'S A DUMBEST KID. ALL OF THEM HAVE THE SAME THING IN COMMON. SIXTH GRADE START IN THE KICKSTART PROGRAM. MADISON HEBERT, MISS TEEN HOUSTON SIXTH GRADER FORT BEND. THEY ALL HAVE THE SAME THING IN COMMON EVERY TIME SIXTH GRADE. KICK START. THE INSTRUCTORS KNEW WHAT THEY WERE WHEN THEY CAME IN. BUT THANK YOU FOR THANK YOU FOR COMING. THANK YOU. THANK YOU.

[01:05:01]

NEXT. THATS THE WE HAVE ANGIE WORD BEY. THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. THANK YOU. GOOD EVENING . UH, DOCTOR SMITH AND BOARD. I JUST, UH, CAME TONIGHT BECAUSE I WANTED TO, UM, BE SPEAK OUT PUBLICLY TO SAY THAT I SUPPORT OUR LIBRARIANS HERE IN FORT BENDAY. THEY SPECIALLY EDUCATED, SPECIALLY TRAINED AND THEY HAVE A TOUGH JOB, JUST LIKE TEACHERS AND STAFF AND OUR SCHOOL DISTRICT. BUT LATELY IT'S BEEN TOUGHER. THEY HAVE BEEN SUBJECT TO CONSPIRACY THEORIES, SOCIAL MEDIA, BULLYING AND EVEN DISRESPECT RIGHT HERE IN THIS BOARDROOM LAST MONTH. SO I ASK YOU AS OUR BOARD OF TRUSTEES TO ALSO STAY STRONG IN YOUR SUPPORT OF OUR LIBRARIANS TO TRUST THEM TO ENCOURAGE THEM TO EMPOWER THEM AS YOUR STAFF THAT ARE LEADING THE WAY IN LITERACY. I ALSO WANT TO SAY THANK YOU FOR YOUR VOTE LAST MONTH IN POSTPONING THE EF POLICY REGARDING BOOKS. THAT VOTE WAS JUST AND WISE BECAUSE WE SHOULD BE INCLUSIVE AND INCLUDING EVERYBODY THAT WE CAN AND THEIR VOICES IN THESE SPEC SPECIFICALLY REALLY IMPORTANT TOPICS RIGHT NOW AND TAKING THE TIME TO RESEARCH AND INVESTIGATE. THERE'S A LOT OF PEOPLE HERE TONIGHT. I'M SO EXCITED ABOUT ALL THE KIDS COMING OUT TONIGHT. THANK YOU ALL AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME. THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. NEXT WE HAVE A JUNE NIGHT HOUSE.

THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. OH, YEAH, YEAH. THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. OH, SORRY. UM.

GOOD EVENING. I'D LIKE TO INTRODUCE MYSELF. I'M THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF CHUCK NORRIS'S KICKSTART KIDS. MY NAME IS JOAN NEWHOUSE. KICKSTART KIDS TEACHES A CHARACTER CURRICULUM FOCUSED ON HONESTY, LOYALTY, COURAGE, DISCIPLINE, RESPECT, DEDICATION, KINDNESS AND RESPONSIBILITY THROUGH THE MARTIAL ARTS FIVE DAYS A WEEK DURING THE SCHOOL DAY, OUR STUDENTS RANGE FROM THE ATHLETICALLY TALENTED TO THE NOT SO MUCH FROM THE GIFTED AND TALENTED TO THOSE WITH LEARNING DISABILITIES. TOGETHER THEY FORM A COMMUNITY IN THE CLASSROOM AND STICK TOGETHER. INSIDE AND OUT. WE HAVE BEEN A LOYAL PARTNER OF FORT BEND, ISD FOR APPROXIMATELY 20 YEARS. KICKSTART KIDS RECENTLY LEARNED ARTIKA LINE PROGRAM WOULD NOT BE OFFERED AS A PE OPTION TO THE DISAPPOINTMENT OF THE NEARLY 2800 STUDENTS THAT HAVE SIGNED UP NEXT YEAR. WE'VE BEEN TOLD THE PROGRAM MUST BE AN ELECTIVE BECAUSE OUR COACHES, INSTRUCTORS DO NOT HOLD A TEACHING CERTIFICATE, ALTHOUGH WHEN I TALKED TO TE A TODAY, THEY SAID, AS A DISTRICT OF INNOVATION THAT WOULD NOT BE REQUIRED AND YOUR DISTRICT OF INNOVATION UNTIL JUNE. 30TH 2027. FURTHER WE WERE TOLD THAT THOSE IN ORDER TO GAUGE THE ACCESS TO OUR PROGRAM A SURVEY WAS GOING TO BE SENT OUT. WE'VE BEEN TOLD FROM FIFTH GRADERS WHO SIGNED UP THEY DID NOT RECEIVE IT. WE'VE HEARD FROM CURRENT STUDENTS. THEY DID NOT RECEIVE IT. AND WE'VE HEARD FROM PARENTS THAT ONE OF THE EMAILS THEY SENT HAD BEEN RETRACTED. 30 SECONDS. WELL WE ARE NOT ABLE TO COLLECT DATA ON OUR STUDENTS IN COMPARISON TO THEIR PEERS ON CAMPUS. WE HAVE BEEN TOLD WE IMPROVE ATTENDANCE, ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE. IN MENTAL HEALTH AND AVERAGE GPA ON SOME CAMPUSES IS 3.75 FOR THE COST OF A TEACHER'S SALARY, INCLUDING TAXES AND BENEFITS. WE PROVIDE A BLACK BELT INSTRUCTOR, A SUBSTITUTE INSTRUCTOR, A SUPERVISOR MATT SPANNERS, AND GEAR, TRAINING MATERIALS AND CURRICULUM FREE SESSIONS BEFORE SCHOOL AND AFTER SCHOOL AND IN JUNE AND A FULL TOURNAMENT. THANK YOU. THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. THANK YOU. NEXT. WE HAVE A PENNY. THANK YOU. THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. THANK YOU. NEXT WE HAVE TISHIA, ROBERT GLOVER. DO WE HAVE, MISS? NO SHE'S NOT HERE. OK, NEXT WE HAVE STEPHANIE BROWN. THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. GOOD EVENING, BOARD SUPERINTENDENT. THANK YOU FOR HAVING US. I'M HERE TO TALK ABOUT AGAIN, THE RANKING THAT I SPOKE ABOUT AT THE LAST MEETING.

AND A COUPLE OF FORUMS THAT I ATTENDED. BECAUSE THIS IS REALLY BEEN BOTHERING ME. I WAS HEARTBROKEN TO LEARN THAT THE VALET VICTORIAN AT MARSHALL HIGH SCHOOL FOR MARSHALL HIGH SCHOOL,

[01:10:03]

NOT AT HAS NEVER STEPPED FOOT ON THE CAMPUS. AS WELL AS OTHER STUDENTS FROM ALL OVER THE DISTRICT THAT HAVE AND WILL PUSH A LOT OF OUR STUDENTS OUT OF THEIR TOP 10. POSITIONS FOR THE NEXT THREE YEARS. WITH THIS POLICY THAT'S IN PLACE IS GOING TO BE MENTALLY AND DETRIMENTAL TO OUR STUDENTS OF FORT BEND, ISD. WHILE THIS IS VERY DISHEARTENING FOR ME I CAN ONLY IMAGINE WHAT THE STUDENTS ARE GOING THROUGH. I RECENTLY LEARNED FROM SEVERAL INDIVIDUALS WHO LIVE UNTIL FAIR. THAT MARSHALL'S BALL VICTORIAN IT'S NOT ZONED TO MARSHALL THAT THAT STUDENT ACTUALLY LIVES AND RESIDES IN THE TILL FAIR COMMUNITY AND IS ZONED TO CLEMENTS HIGH SCHOOL. THIS NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED IMMEDIATELY AT THE VALEDICTORIAN NEEDS TO RETURN TO THE PROPER RECIPIENT. THE YOUNG LADY WHO IS ACTUALLY ZONED AND ATTENDS MARSHALL 30 SECONDS. THIS CORRECTIVE ACTION WILL SEND A MESSAGE AND PROHIBIT OTHERS FROM FOLLOWING IN THIS DECEITFUL PATH. FURTHERMORE THE NEW POLICY NEEDS TO BE REVIEWED BY A FEW STAKEHOLDERS TO ENSURE THAT THESE TYPES OF LOOPHOLES ARE CAUGHT BEFORE IT CONTINUES TO RUIN AND JEOPARDIZE THE MENTAL HEALTH AND LIVES OF STUDENTS WHO HAVE WORKED VERY HARD AT A SCHOOL WITH LIMITED COURSE SELECTIONS, WHICH HAS NO COMPARISON WHEN IT COMES TO WEIGHTED CLASSES. RANK RANKINGS TO PUT IT SIMPLE. THEY ARE NOT COMPETING IN THE SAME RACE. THE DISTRICT NEEDS THANK OK? THANK YOU FOR COMING. THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. THANK YOU. NEXT. WE HAVE STACY ALLEN. SHE'S NOT HERE. OK? NEXT. WE HAVE CASUALLY, GASTON. THANK YOU, SIS . SIS. CECILE SORRY. SORRY.

CECILE CIS. CECILY SORRY WE ARE TRYING TO DO OUR BEST. THANK YOU . NO PROBLEM. THANK YOU. UH OH.

GOOD EVENING. GOOD EVENING, ESTEEMED MEMBERS OF THE FOR BISD . DISTRICT OFFICIALS. UM MY NAME IS CECILY HUGHES. GASTON I AM A FOR DNISD. THURGOOD MARSHALL GRADUATE. SO IS MY SISTER AISHA.

WE ARE THE PROUD FOUNDERS OF BIG SISTER LITTLE SISTER MENTORING PROGRAM. WE ARE AT 20 CAMPUSES, UM, THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES . WE'VE MENTORED OVER 15,000 GIRLS, UM DO TODAY SO I AM HERE TODAY TO ADDRESS LEARNING ISSUES THAT HAVE COME TO ME AND MY SISTER'S ATTENTION REGARDING THE ECA ACADEMIC COMPETITIVENESS WITHIN OUR DISTRICT AS FAR AS IT CONCERNS THURGOOD MARSHALL HIGH SCHOOL, IT HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO OUR ATTENTION THAT THURGOOD MARSHALL STUDENTS, PARTICULARLY THE VALEDICTORIAN IS SHE'S FACING HE OR SHE IS FACING CHALLENGES IN MAINTAINING THEIR POSITION, FOR EXAMPLE. WITH OUR CURRENT VALEDICTORIAN, THE POSITION SHE HAS SHE OR HE HAS BEEN PUSHED DOWN DUE TO A POLICY THAT HAS BEEN PUT IN PLACE BY FOR ISD INITIALLY TO PROTECT THE STUDENT FROM THINGS LIKE THIS HAPPENING. UNFORTUNATELY IT'S NOT DOING THAT RIGHT. SO WHAT'S GOING ON NOW? IS THAT THE STUDENT WHO IS CURRENTLY TAKING THAT POSITION IS NOT CURRENTLY, UM, ZONED TO THEIR GOOD MARSHALL , AND IT'S IN A PURPORTED POSITION AND IS UN UNFORTUNATELY AFFECTING THE FAMILY. COMMUNITY WHAT MESSAGE IS FOR BEING EYES DESCENDING TO OUR VULNERABLE COMMUNITIES AND TO OUR VULNERABLE STUDENTS THAT SAYS THAT THIS IS OK FOR YOU TO? YES SIR, FOR YOU TO COME INTO OUR COMMUNITY, LIE TO OUR OFFICIALS AND TAKE ADVANTAGE BECAUSE YOUR FAMILY HAS A FINANCIAL UPPER HAND ON THOSE PARENTS TO BE ABLE TO BUY PROPERTIES IN VULNERABLE AREAS, TAKE THOSE POSITIONS AND THEN SAY, HEY, WORLD! LOOK WHAT I WORKED HARD FOR. BUT YOU DIDN'T. THAT IS NOT THE MESSAGE US FOR BEING CITIZENS WANT TO THE WORLD TO OUR STUDENTS. YOU KNOW, WE DESERVE BETTER AND WE WILL DO BETTER. AND I BELIEVE YOU ALL WILL TAKE CORRECTIVE ACTION. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR TIME. YOU LOOK BEAUTIFUL. THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT.

THANK YOU FOR COMING SATURDAY. YOU HAVE A BEAUTIFUL NAME. THANK YOU. NEXT WE HAVE WE RAINWATER.

THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. THANK YOU. HM? UH, GOOD EVENING. UM FIRST, I'D LIKE TO SAY, YOU

[01:15:04]

KNOW, UH, THANK YOU ALL FOR THE HARD WORK YOU PUT IN DOCTOR SMITH AND THE BOARD MEMBERS AND STUFF. UH, THE REASON I'M HERE TONIGHT IS THAT I WOULD LIKE TO ADDRESS A COUPLE OF THINGS. UH, THE FIRST THING IS, IS THAT WITH THIS $130 MILLION DEFICIT THAT WE GOT HERE, YOU KNOW, I KNOW THAT THERE'S AN INVESTIGATION THAT YOU GUYS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE DOING, BUT I EMPLOY YOU PLEASE DO THAT INVESTIGATION OUT OF HOUSE. DON'T DO IT IN HOUSE BECAUSE AN IN HOUSE DOES NOT GIVE THE CLARITY DOES NOT GIVE THE TRANSPARENCY AND DOES NOT GIVE THE VOTERS THE CONFIDENCE THAT THINGS ARE GONNA BE, YOU KNOW, LOOKED AT EVERY STEP OF THE WAY AND THAT THOSE ACCOUNTABLE ARE GONNA BE HELD THAT WAY. SO PLEASE CONSIDER DOING THAT AS A OUTSIDE INVESTIGATION, NOT AN IN HOUSE. THE SECOND THING IS ABOUT WHAT THE YOUNG LADY WAS JUST SPEAKING ABOUT. IS THAT I THINK THAT IT'S VERY UN UNFAIR FOR SOMEONE TO WORK REALLY HARD TO ACHIEVE SOMETHING AND TO STAY SOMEWHERE AND DEAL WITH ALL THE PARTICULARS THAT THEY HAVE TO DEAL WITH, AND WHATEVER THE SITUATION IS LIKE, IF A CHILD STAYS AT MARSHALL OR WILLOW RIDGE OR WHATEVER THAT CHILD, EVEN THOUGH HE MAY BE A STELLAR STUDENT, HE MADE A CHOICE AS WELL AS THE CHILD WHO'S THE STELLAR STUDENT THAT MADE THE CHOICE TO GO TO THE ACADEMY.

THAT'S A CHOICE. NOW AT THE END OF THAT CHOICE. THERE'S UH UH UM THERE. THERE'S A PRIZE. THERE'S SOMETHING THAT YOU GET FOR CLIMBING THE MOUNTAIN 30 SECONDS AND THIS SITUATION THAT YOU HAVE HERE. IT'S NOT FAIR. I MEAN, AND I KNOW A FAIR IS, YOU KNOW COTTON CAN IN A FERRIS WHEEL, BUT IT'S STILL NOT RIGHT. AND YOU'RE PUTTING SOME FAMILIES IN SOME VERY HARD POSITIONS WHEN THESE THINGS HAPPEN, BECAUSE THE PERSON THAT STAYED THERE, THEY WORKED REALLY HARD TO GET WHAT THEY GOT, AND THEY DO NOT DESERVE SOMEONE THAT'S COMING IN. FROM OUTSIDE, JUST LIKE YOU GUYS ARE HAVING AN ELECTION NOW, WHEN A THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU FOR SPEAKING UP. THANK YOU. NEXT. WE HAVE BRIAN WHITE. THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. SUPERINTENDENT SCHOOL BOARD. APPEARANCE. MY NAME IS BRIAN WHITE. AND I'M A PARENT HERE IN FORT BEND COUNTY. A MONTH AGO. I STOOD IN THIS ROOM AT THIS PODIUM. TO MAKE THE COMMUNITY AND THIS BOARD AWARE OF THE SEXUALIZATION OF CHILDREN OCCURRING IN FORT BEND COUNTY SCHOOLS. MY EXPECTATION WAS THAT THIS BOARD WOULD MOVE SWIFTLY TO REMOVE THIS CONTENT AND PREVENT ANY SUCH CONTENT FROM ENTERING FORT BEND COUNTY SCHOOLS. AND A MONTH LATER. THAT CONTENT IS STILL THERE. AND THERE IS NO SUBSTANTIVE ACTION. THAT HAS BEEN TAKEN TO REMOVE SUCH CONTENT. WITH THIS WILLFUL INACTION. THIS BOARD IS NOT ONLY AWARE OF IN FORT BEND COUNTY SCHOOLS. THIS BOARD ENDORSES AND PROMOTES IN FORT BEND COUNTY SCHOOLS. AND THIS BOARD IS COMPLICIT WITH THE SEXUALIZATION OF CHILDREN. NOW THERE'S AN ELECTION GOING ON. SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO FEAR ANYTHING FROM ME. BUT I'M GONNA READ FOR YOU. ANOTHER BOOK TONIGHT. INSTEAD OF THE FILTH THAT I READ LAST TIME. THE BIBLE SAYS DO NOT BE DECEIVED. GOD IS NOT MOCKED. FOR WHATEVER A BOARD MEMBER SOWS THAT SHE WILL ALSO REAP. THE BIBLE SAYS, DO NOT FEAR THOSE WHO CAN KILL THE BODY BUT ARE UNABLE TO KILL THE SOUL BUT RATHER FEAR HIM. WAS ABLE TO DESTROY BOTH BODY AND SOUL 30 SECONDS IN HELL. THE BIBLE SAYS WOE TO THOSE WHO CALL GOOD EVIL AND EVIL GOOD WHO SUBSTITUTE DARKNESS FOR LIGHT AND LIGHT FOR DARKNESS. SO I'M CALLING ON YOU.

ANGIE HENON. AND YOU, KRISTEN MALONE AND YOU, DOCTOR, SHIRLEY GILLIAM. TO REMOVE THIS BILL FROM PORTMAN. DOWNY SCHOOLS STOP THIS UNRIGHTEOUSNESS AND UNGODLINESS TIME. THANK YOU.

THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. NEXT WE HAVE SUMITA GOSH. SUBMIT HER FOR ME TO GO. THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. SORRY. HI MY NAME IS SUMITA GHOSH AND I HAVE TWO CHILDREN CURRENTLY ATTENDING FORT BEND ISD SCHOOLS, NOT COUNTY SCHOOLS. UM I WANTED TO SPEAK IN SUPPORT OF OUR FORT

[01:20:05]

BEND ISD. LIBRARIANS ENCOURAGE RETRAINING OF BOARD MEMBERS ON THE FORT BENIA SD CODE OF ETHICS AND THE SOCIAL MEDIA CONDUCT POLICY, WHICH IS UNDER CONSIDERATION TONIGHT. MY I WANTED TO TALK ABOUT MY LIBRARY AND WHO WHO I'VE KNOWN FOR FIVE YEARS. SHE'S A PRODUCT OF FORTMAN ISD ELEMENTARY, MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOLS. SHE TAUGHT AT FORT BEN IC SCHOOLS AND THEN WENT BACK TO GET HER MASTER'S IN LIBRARY SCIENCE SO SHE COULD BECOME A LIBRARIAN. SHE IS ONE OF THE KINDEST, SINCEREST, CONSCIENTIOUS AND HARD WORKING PEOPLE THAT I'VE HAD THE PRIVILEGE OF KNOWING, BUT HONESTLY, SHE'S NO DIFFERENT THAN OUR OUR, OUR ALL OUR LIBRARIANS. OUR KIDS ARE THEIR KIDS IN OUR LIBRARIANS, OUR FAMILY. SO IMAGINE MY SURPRISE AND DISGUST WHEN PAID. OUTSIDERS ARE COMING IN TO COMPLETE WITH PAPARAZZI WHO HAVE ABSOLUTELY ZERO KNOWLEDGE OR BACKGROUND ABOUT OUR LIBRARIANS, OUR SCHOOL DISTRICT AND CERTAINLY NOT OUR KIDS OR POLICIES AND ARE ALLOWED TO REVILE AND DENIGRATE MY CO PARENTS. UM EVEN MORE DISTURBING WERE THAT THESE ANTI PUBLIC SCHOOL ANTI DEMOC DEMOCRATIC FASCISTS WHO SOMEHOW TWIST FASCISM, ANTI FASCISM INTO A BAD THING ARE ALLOWED TO PUBLICLY AND ACTIVELY ABUSE CHILDREN PRESENT IN THE ROOM BY TAKING PARAGRAPHS OUT OF CONTEXT REPEATEDLY FOR WHATEVER PERSONAL SELF GRAFA SELF GRATIFICATION THEY MIGHT GET OUT OF IT. LOOK IN THE MIRROR AND STOP PROJECTING, REALISTICALLY DESCRIBING SOMETHING ISN'T THE SAME AS PROMOTING IT. OTHERWISE, WE NEED TO BAN THE BIBLE. FOR PROMOTING AND INCEST. THERE IS NO PLACE FOR HATE IN FORT BEN ISD OR DIVISIVENESS. I HAVE TO QUESTION THE MOTIVES OF PASTORS THAT HAVE NEVER ENGAGED BEFORE SUDDENLY SHOWING UP TO BECOME THE BLACK SAVIORS OF FORT BEN ISD. UM FORT BEN IST HAS A GREAT CODE OF ETHICS. SOME CLEARLY DON'T EVER SEEM TO HAVE READ IT. UNFORTUNATELY PERHAPS INSTEAD OF BEATING A DEAD HORSE, THE DISTRICT THANK YOU. THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. NEXT. WE HAVE HAD ME NICHE. CUT, HONEY. BUT HONEY NO. OK? NEXT. WE HAVE TIFFANY YUAN. THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. THANK YOU. HELLO MY NAME IS TIFFANY AND I'M A FRESHMAN AT CLEMENTS HIGH SCHOOL . I WOULD LIKE TO TAKE A MOMENT TO TALK ABOUT THE KICKSTART PROGRAM AND HOW IT HAS BENEFITED ME. GROWING UP. I WAS A VERY SHY AND SOCIALLY AWKWARD KID. I DIDN'T HAVE MANY FRIENDS. HOWEVER THIS ALL BEGAN TO CHANGE IN MY SIXTH GRADE YEAR WHEN I WAS INTRODUCED TO KICKSTART KIDS THROUGH THIS CLASS, I MET MANY CLOSE FRIENDS WHOM I'M STILL FRIENDS WITH TODAY AND IT AND IT AND IT GAVE ME A COMMUNITY THAT I COULD DEPEND ON. I'VE LEARNED TO BECOME MORE SOCIABLE AND OUTGOING. DURING MY SEVENTH GRADE YEAR, I WENT TO MY FIRST EVER TOURNAMENT FEELING NERVOUS AND FILLED WITH DOUBT, HOWEVER, THERE WAS ONE PERSON WHO REALLY HELPED ME TO OVERCOME THESE FEELINGS OF NERVOUSNESS. IT WAS MY INSTRUCTOR WHO NEVER FAILED TO GIVE ME WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT AND SUPPORT. AND I REMEMBER GOING TO THIS FIRST TOURNAMENT AND EARNING A SMALL BRONZE MEDAL WHITE WHILE EXCITEDLY RUNNING TO MY INSTRUCTOR AND HEARING THE WORDS I'M SO PROUD OF YOU. I WANT TO TAKE A MOMENT TO TALK ABOUT THE STRUCTURES. INSTRUCTORS HERE AT KICKSTART THESE INSTRUCTORS ARE BY FAR THE MOST PASSIONATE TEACHERS I'VE EVER MET, AND I'M JUST BLOWN AWAY AT THEIR COMMITMENT FOR THEIR STUDENTS.

THESE ARE THE TEACHERS WHO STAY DAY BY DAY AFTER SCHOOL TO HELP THEIR STUDENTS, WHETHER IT'S FOR UPCOMING TOURNAMENTS OR TO TEACH THEM NEW TRICKS, NEW KICKS OR EVEN VALUES ABOUT LIFE, SUCH AS HONESTY AND HARD WORK, DILIGENCE AND LEADERSHIP. THESE ARE THE TEACHERS THAT COME EARLY TO SCHOOL EVERY DAY TO OFFER MORNING CLASSES TO KIDS WHO MIGHT HAVE HEALTH DURING THEIR SEVENTH GRADE SEMESTER. AND THESE ARE THE INSTRUCTORS THAT WILL HELP YOU GET THROUGH THE FEELINGS OF INADEQUACY AND SELF DOUBT. OVER THE YEARS KICKSTART HAS TAUGHT ME MANY VALUES. IT'S TAUGHT ME HOW TO WORK HARD FOR MY GOALS AND ASPIRATIONS. 30 SECONDS TAUGHT ME TO DISCIPLINE, TEAMWORK AND PERSEVERANCE TO FACE CHALLENGES THAT I NEVER THOUGHT I WAS CAPABLE OF. LASTLY I'D LIKE TO RECOGNIZE SOME KICKSTART INSTRUCTORS, TRACY ARMSTEAD, WHO DIDN'T HESITATE TO COACH ME AT HIS OWN STUDENT, AND MY INSTRUCTOR, MORGAN SMITH, WHO HAD ALWAYS SHOWN HER SUPPORT AND ENCOURAGEMENT THROUGH ALL MY ENDEAVORS, EVEN OUTSIDE OF KARATE. I EVEN REMEMBER SHE WENT OUT OF HER WAY TO DRIVE TO A DIFFERENT CITY TO SUPPORT ME AND MY KARATE COMPETITION. SHE WENT ABOVE AND BEYOND. FOR WHAT? INSTRUCTOR DOES FOR HIS STUDENTS THAT CANNOT BE MORE THANKFUL FOR HER SUPPORT. THESE ARE THE INSTRUCTORS WHO MAKE KICKSTART GREAT, I HOPE. THEN. THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT. THANK YOU. NEXT WE HAVE OUR LAST SPEAKER MICHAEL SCHMIDT. THANK YOU FOR

[01:25:01]

COMING TONIGHT. THANK YOU. THESE MEETINGS ARE MORE INTERESTING THAN I EXPECTED. UM A YEAR AGO.

I HAD NO IDEA WHAT KICKSTART WAS. AND THEN THIS EVENING AT 430. MY DAUGHTER TEXTED ME AND ASKED ME TO COME TO A BOARD MEETING. SO WITH AN HOUR NOTICE, I'M GOING TO DEFER TO ALL THE PARENTS AND KIDS THAT TALKED EARLIER ABOUT THEIR RESEARCH. MY DAUGHTER SPECIAL NEEDS. LAST YEAR AT HER MEETING ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, WE ALL COLLECTIVELY DECIDED THAT SHE COULD NOT SURVIVE REGULAR PE IN MIDDLE SCHOOL. OR PRINCIPAL RECOMMENDED KICKSTART. SO WE STARTED DOING A LITTLE RESEARCH AND WE ENROLLED HER IN THAT. I WILL SAY IF YOU'RE THINKING ABOUT IS IT PHYSICAL EDUCATION? HER OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST HAS NOTED THE BIGGEST GROWTH SHE'S HAD THIS YEAR, AND SHE CREDITS THAT DUE TO KICKSTART. SO YOU GOT THAT THERE. THEN, AS EVERYONE ELSE NOTED, AND ALL THE KIDS HERE, IT'S A VERY GREAT AT CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, WHICH MY DAUGHTER NEEDS. SO ON THAT NOTE, I'LL KIND OF GIVE YOU A STORY. SO MY DAUGHTER AGAIN SHE'S SPECIAL NEEDS KICKSTART HAS THIS DEMONSTRATION DIVISION THAT THEY PARTICIPATE IN? SHE HAS A GOOD TIME WITH THAT. SO ON SATURDAY MORNING OF THE COMPETITION, SHE'S SUPER EXCITED. SHE'S GOT HER SHINY UNIFORM ON WHITE UNIFORM ON CLEARLY WHITE, GOOD TO GO TAKING THE CAR ON THE RIDE THERE, BUT BECAUSE OF HER ANXIETY OR BECAUSE SHE IS WHO SHE IS, SHE KIND OF THREW UP ALL OVER HERSELF AND TARNISHED AND RUINED HER UNIFORM. SO THROUGH MANY TIERS, IN THE BATHROOM AND NOW WE'RE TRYING TO DECIDE. WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO HERE? WE'RE KIND OF LOOKING FOR A SAVIOR, SO I'M GOING TO HELP OUT. AND THE DIRECTOR OF THE KICKSTART PROGRAM, SAID, YOU KNOW WHAT? HE TALKED TO HER INSTRUCTOR AND SAID, WE'LL LET HER COMPETE IN SHORTS AND A T SHIRT THAT'S NOT NORMALLY ALLOWED. BUT HEY, IT WOULD BENEFIT HER. AND THEN HE WENT A STEP FURTHER. HE CAME BACK AND HE FOUND A SPARE UNIFORM. SO NOW I GOT MY DAUGHTER DRESSED UP WHITE SPARE UNIFORM AND SHE WAS SUPER EXCITED. SHE WAS READY TO GO. SHE WENT OUT THERE AND SHE PERFORMED SLOWLY. I GRANTED, BUT SHE PERFORMED SHE HAD A GREAT DAY AND BECAUSE OF KICKSTART AND WHAT THEY BRING IN YOU, WE HAD A DAY OF TRAGEDY TURNED INTO A DAY OF TRIUMPH. IT'S A REALLY GOOD ORGANIZATION. I REALLY HOPE WE CAN KEEP DOING IT. THANK YOU. THANK YOU FOR COMING TONIGHT.

THANK YOU. THAT'S CONCLUDE OUR PUBLIC COMMENT SESSION. UNLESS DID I FORGET ANYONE WHO REGISTERED BUT HAVEN'T BEEN CALLED? OKAY? THANK YOU ALL FOR COMING TONIGHT. THANK YOU. NEXT WE'LL HAVE, UM THIS SPECIAL REPORT. SO WE HAVE FOUR MEMBER REPORTS. FIRST WE TALK TRACY GAINS, BUT SHE ALREADY SPOKE. YEAH. THANK YOU. THANK YOU FOR THAT. SO NEXT, WE HAVE FOUR

ITEM, DOCTOR SMITH. I'M GONNA TURN THIS OVER TO YOU. YES, MA'AM. WE WILL HEAR FROM CHIEF RYDER. YOU ARE YOU PREPARED AND YOU'RE READY TO GO? YES, SIR. THANK YOU. WE'LL TURN IT OVER TO YOU. THANK YOU. GOOD EVENING. UM SINCE OUR LAST BOARD MEETING ON MARCH 25TH, THE TEXAS EDUCATION AGENCY IS CONDUCTED 13 ADDITIONAL INTRUDER DETECTION AUDIT REPORTS FOR 13 OF OUR CAMPUSES. 11 OF THOSE CAMPUSES. THE REPORTS CAME BACK WITH ABSOLUTELY NO FINDINGS AND NO CORRECTIVE ACTIONS, WHILE TWO CAMPUSES RECEIVE FINDINGS, SO WE ARE WELL UNDERWAY, MAKING THOSE MEASURES CORRECTIVE MEASURES SO THAT WE WOULD BE IN COMPLIANCE WITH THOSE FINDINGS. THANK YOU, CHIEF RIDER. THANK YOU, DOCTOR SMITH. UM OR DO WE HAVE ANY QUESTIONS OR DISCUSSION? XYN.

[12.A. Consider proposed changes to Board Operating Procedures]

THANK YOU, CHIEF RIDER. THANK YOU. SO NEXT. WE ARE COMING TO THE REVIEW. UM ITEM, WHICH IS CONSIDERED PROPOSED CHANGES TO BOARD OPERATING PROCEDURE. UH, BEFORE WE START I JUST WANT TO THANK DOCTOR GILLIAM AND MISS HANNAH FOR WORKING ON THIS REALLY HARD AND I KNOW AT THE LAST FOUR MEETING I MENTIONED MAYBE IT'S WORTHWHILE FOR US TO HAVE A NEW DRAFT. AND ALMOST

[01:40:09]

READY TO GO, UH, BEFORE THE NEW BOARD COMING IN, SO THANK YOU, MS. HELEN AND DOCTOR GILLIAN. SO I'M GONNA LET THEM TO, UH, GIVE US SOME INFORMATION FIRST, BEFORE WE OPEN THE FLOOR FOR DISCUSSION. SO DOCTOR GILLIAM, OK, GREAT. UH, GOOD EVENING, EVERYONE. UM FIRST OF ALL, PRESIDENT DAY REQUESTED THAT I TRUSTEE HANNAN WORK TOGETHER TO DRAFT BOARD OPERATING PROCEDURES TO ADDRESS SOCIAL MEDIA. WE WORKED IN ANGIE, MISS HANNON AND I WORKED INCOME CONSULTATION WITH BOARD ATTORNEY JONATHAN BRUSH ON THE FOLLOWING SECTIONS OF THE BOARD OPERATING PROCEDURES, SOCIAL MEDIA STANDARDS OF BEHAVIOR AND BOARD OFFICER ELECTIONS INDEPENDENT OF THE BOARD ATTORNEY. WE ALSO CRAFTED A DRAFT CODE OF ETHICS AGREEMENT FORM AND REVIEWED THE ENTIRE BOARD OPERATING PROCEDURES DOCUMENT. THE MAJOR FOCUS THIS EVENING WILL BE SOCIAL MEDIA WITHIN THE COMMUNICATIONS SECTION OF THE BOARD OPERATING PROCEDURES AND STANDARDS OF BEHAVIOR. PLEASE REFER TO AND THIS IS THE BOARD. THE, UH, YOUR TWO PAGE DOCUMENT.

LET ME SEE WHERE MY MOM IS. IT LOOKS LIKE THIS, OK? THE SECOND DO THE SECOND DOCUMENT WE WOULD LIKE TO PRESENT IS THE BOARD CODE OF ETHICS AGREEMENT DRAFT. OUR BOARD OPERATING PROCEDURES REQUIRE NEW TRUSTEES SIGN A FORM AND ALL BOARD MEMBERS SIGN IT ANNUALLY. HOWEVER THERE IS NO FORM INCLUDED IN THE FORT VAN ID BOARD OPERATING PROCEDURES. TIME IS LIMITED TONIGHT, SO WE WILL NOT DISCUSS THE THIRD DOCUMENT, WHICH IS THE OPERATING PROCEDURES HANDBOOK. WE IT WAS PROVIDED TO START. DIALOGUE AMONG THE BOARD TO ā– ADDRESS HOW WE CAN WORK TOGETHER TO IMPROVE THIS GUIDING DOC DOCUMENT FOR BOARD MEMBERS. WE LOOK FORWARD TO A FUTURE BOARD TRAINING OR WORKSHOP TO CONTINUE THIS CONVERSATION. AT THIS TIME, WE WOULD LIKE TO FOCUS ON THE REQUEST FROM PRESIDENT DAY REGARDING SOCIAL MEDIA. PLEASE REFER TO COMMUNICATIONS ON PAGE TWO OF YOUR HANDOUT. AND THIS IS THE TWO PAGER. AND IT HAS THE BLUE WRITING AND THIS IS WHAT IT READS. BOARD MEMBERS SHOULD RECOGNIZE THAT THEY ARE PUBLIC OFFICIALS AND SHOULD ADHERE TO THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES, CODE OF ETHICS AND THESE OPERATING PROCEDURES IN THEIR PERSONAL USE OF SOCIAL MEDIA AND OTHER INTERNET SITES. WHEN THE POSTING RELATES TO THE DISTRICT AND ARE PUBLICLY ACCESSIBLE BOARD MEMBERS SHOULD REFRAIN FROM PUBLICLY POSTING MATERIAL ON SOCIAL MEDIA OR THE INTERNET THAT IS LEWD, OBSCENE, INAPPROPRIATE OR MAY REFLECT NEGATIVELY ON THE DISTRICT. WE ARE ASKING FOR THE BOARD'S FEEDBACK IN ORDER TO COME TO CONSENSUS FOR EXPECTATIONS FOR THE SAKE OF TIME. I WOULD LIKE TO READ AND WE I'VE ALREADY DONE THAT READ THE MAJOR REVISIONS AS IT PERTAINS TO SOCIAL. OH, HERE'S A SOCIAL MEDIA MY BAD.

THAT WAS THAT. SO AT THIS TIME, TRUSTY HANNAN, WOULD YOU LIKE TO ADD ANYTHING? UM UH, DOCTOR GILLIAM. I ACTUALLY JUST WANNA THANK YOU PUBLICLY, UM, I WANT I DO WANT THE BOARD TO KNOW WE SPENT CONSIDERABLE TIME LOOKING AT THIS LOOKING AT OTHER SCHOOL DISTRICTS. WHAT WHAT THEY HAVE ON THEIR, UM, WEBSITES AND, UM, I WANTED TO THANK UH, JONATHAN BRUSH FOR HIS, UM, CONSULTATION, UM, ON THE SOCIAL MEDIA PORTION AND THE CONDUCT PORTION. UM, AND MUCH OF WHAT WE HAVE OBVIOUSLY YOU CAN SEE IS UNTOUCHED. UM AND THEN FINALLY, YOU KNOW, I. I KNOW THAT THAT IT WAS LIKE MISS DAY, SAID A GOAL TO HAVE SOME DRAFT PROCEDURES BY THE TIME WE TRAIN, UM, A NEW, UM, ANY NEW BOARD MEMBER, UM, COMING ON BOARD, SO WE WERE TRYING TO DO THAT AND AGAIN, UNDERSCORING THAT THE BOARD OPERATING PROCEDURES THAT HAVE ADDITIONAL EDITS IT REALLY IS SO THAT WE CAN SIT DOWN AND HAVE FURTHER CONVERSATIONS BECAUSE SINCE I HAVE BEEN ON THE BOARD, AND THAT'S WHAT 3.5 YEARS NOW, UM THE ONLY REVISION WE'VE MADE WAS TO THE TRAVEL PROCEDURES AND US A COUPLE OF OR THREE OF YOU WILL PROBABLY REMEMBER, UM, THAT THAT WAS INITIATED BECAUSE OF A CONFUSION OR AN ISSUE WITH THE TRUSTEES TRAVEL. SO I. I DO THINK IT'S TIME FOR US TO HAVE A LOOK. THANK YOU VERY MUCH, DOCTOR GILLIAM. OKAY. THANK YOU, MISS HANNON. I MOVE THAT THE BOARD LIMIT DISCUSSION OF THIS ITEM TO TWO MINUTES PER BOARD MEMBER. SECOND THE MOTION. WE

[01:45:03]

HAVE A MOTION BY DR GIDEON AND SECOND BY MS HANNAN. WE NEED A VOTE FOR THIS MOTION. DO WE HAVE A DISCUSSION? UH, WE DON'T NEED A DISCUSSION. WE JUST NEED TO VOTE ON THIS MOTION, PLEASE.

MOTION PASSES SIX AND ONE MISS JONES ABSENT OK? THAT WORKS. SO THAT BEING SAID, I'M GONNA OPEN THE FLOOR FOR, UH, DISCUSSION. SO EACH BOARD MEMBER, SO THANK YOU, DOCTOR GIDEON FOR THAT, AND THANK, THANK YOU, MISS HANNAH, BECAUSE WE DON'T NEED TO TAKE ACTIONS. I THINK IT'S VERY BENEFICIAL TO HAVE A LIMIT TIME DISCUSSION, SO MAKE THE BOARD MEETING MORE EFFICIENT. SO THAT BEING SAID, I'M GONNA OPEN THE FLOOR AND FOR EACH MEMBER TO MAKE SOME COMMENTS, WE'LL START WITH MISS JONES. CAN I RESERVE MY COMMENT RIGHT NOW? YOU DON'T HAVE OK UNTIL EVERYONE ELSE MAKES THEIR COMMENTS BECAUSE I WANNA HEAR THEIR PERSPECTIVES ON THE MATTER FIRST. SURE, MISS MISS MALONE. UH, DR GIL I, I THINK YOU YOU'RE ON THE WAY. YEAH. I'VE SHARED MY CONCERN.

THANK YOU. SO, MR HAMILTON YOU'RE FINE. UM MR GARCIA. SURE WHY NOT? OK? SO YOUR TIME ALREADY. OH, ARE YOU TIMING NUMBER TWO MINUTES. UM SO YEAH. I I SO I THINK, AND WE'VE HAD A LOT OF DISCUSSION, UM WITH REGARDS TO THINGS LIKE SOCIAL MEDIA. AND I. I DO AGREE THAT THAT WE'VE GOT SOME WORK TO DO INTERNALLY AND I DON'T ALWAYS AGREE WITH WITH WHAT MY COLLEAGUES ARE DOING OUT THERE ON SOCIAL MEDIA AND SAYING THINGS THAT ARE INAPPROPRIATE AND SAYING THINGS ABOUT OTHER TRUSTEES THAT AREN'T TRUE. UM THERE IS DEFINITELY SOMETHING THAT WE NEED TO WORK ON AS A TEAM. I'M NOT NECESSARILY SURE THAT BANNING SPEECH. I THINK WE IS THE WAY TO GO BECAUSE WE'RE SITTING HERE TALKING ABOUT FOLKS COMING IN TALKING ABOUT FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHTS AND BANNING BOOKS AND THINGS LIKE THAT, AND I DO THINK THAT THERE IS A UH, SOME DISCUSSION THAT WE NEED TO HAVE. I WELCOME A WORKSHOP. UM I DO ALSO WANNA SAY THAT ON ON SOME OF THE REVISIONS AS IT RELATES TO BOARD PRESIDENT, I THOUGHT THAT WAS KIND OF INTERESTING. UM WE DO SEEM TO BE SORT OF HYPER FOCUSED ON BOARD PRESIDENT AND WHO BOARD PRESIDENTS ARE FOR ONE ELECTION TO THE NEXT AND SO THAT'S ALSO FOR ME A LITTLE CONCERNING WE'VE GOT. FOLKS OUT THERE, ASKING CANDIDATES WHO ARE FORUMS WHO THEY WOULD VOTE FOR IS BOARD PRESIDENT, WHICH I THINK IS VERY INAPPROPRIATE. UM SO, I. I THINK IT'S IMPORTANT TO REALIZE THAT WE ARE A TEAM. WE'RE SUPPOSED TO OPERATE AS A TEAM. AND IT REALLY DOESN'T MATTER WHO THE BOARD PRESIDENT IS. WE NEED TO SUPPORT THE BOARD PRESIDENT AND I THINK, JUDY MISS DAY YOU'VE HAD A VERY DIFFICULT TERM. NOT GETTING THE SUPPORT FROM YOUR COLLEAGUES AS YOU NEEDED AND IT'S BEEN QUITE APPARENT AND II I IT'S YOUR LAST BOARD MEETING AND I APPRECIATE EVERYTHING THAT YOU'VE DONE, AND IT'S PRETTY BEEN VERY CHALLENGING. SO I THINK WHEN WE LOOK AT AND WHEN YOU HAD ASKED ME TO BE VP, NOT NOT ABOUT TITLES FOR ME, UM SO I'M NOT THE VP. BUT HERE I AM. UH, I THINK IT'S MORE IMPORTANT FOR US TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO WORK AS A TEAM. AND SORT OF MOVE FORWARD.

SO THANK YOU. THANK YOU, MISS GARCIA. MISS JONES. THE LIGHTING. BUT WHAT? UH. SO I GOT A QUESTION FOR JONATHAN. SO THE MOST RECENT OPINION ON LINK VERSUS FREE THAT CAME OUT FROM THE US SUPREME COURT REGARDING, UH ELECTED OFFICIALS AND THEIR SOCIAL MEDIA AND THE REGULATION OF THAT, CAN YOU PLEASE SPEAK ON THAT? AS WELL ON WHAT THEY ROLLED ON BACK ON MARCH 15TH.

YES IN THAT CASE, THE SUPREME COURT WAS ADDRESSING THE QUESTION OF WHETHER OR NOT A PUBLIC OFFICIAL COULD BLOCK OR DELETE COMMENTS THAT A MEMBER OF THE PUBLIC HAD MADE ON THEIR SOCIAL MEDIA POSTINGS WITHOUT OFFENDING THE FIRST AMENDMENT. AND SO THE QUESTION WAS, COULD A PUBLIC OFFICIAL BE LIABLE FOR BLOCKING A COMMENT OR OR DELETING A COMMENT IN THAT CASE, THE COURT PUT OUT A TWO PART TEST, IT SAID, FOR THE GOVERNMENTAL OFFICIAL TO RAISE FIRST AMENDMENT CONCERN. THEY MUST BE EMPOWERED BY LAW TO SPEAK ON BEHALF OF THE

[01:50:04]

GOVERNMENT, AND THEY MUST PURPORT TO ACTUALLY BE USING TO ACTUALLY BE SPEAKING ON BEHALF OF THE GOVERNMENT. AND THE COURT WAS WARY OF ESSENTIALLY MAKING PUBLIC OFFICIALS LIABLE FOR SOCIAL MEDIA POSTING PRACTICES IN THEIR PRIVATE LIVES OR IN THEIR INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY WHEN THEY BLOCK SOMEONE FROM COMMENTING ON THEIR POST. IN THAT CASE, IT WAS A MIXED FACEBOOK POSTING OR SOCIAL MEDIA POSTING BETWEEN PERSONAL COMMENTARY AND COMMENTARY ABOUT THE CITY MANAGER'S JOB. AND ULTIMATELY, THE COURT FOUND THAT , UH, THAT TEST WOULD INSULATE MOST SPEECH AND MOST GOVERNMENTAL ACTIONS FROM FIRST AMENDMENT ISSUES. THANK YOU, MISS. THANK YOU, MISS JONES. I HAD I HAD TO ASK. YEAH, BECAUSE I SEE SOME ISSUES RELATING TO FIRST AMENDMENT. UM RIGHT AS FAR AS WHAT YOU'RE ASKING, BUT I'M NOT GONNA GO THERE. I HONESTLY DO BELIEVE THAT THIS IS AN INTERNAL MATTER. AND THAT WE SHOULD BE TALKING ABOUT THIS.

AND A BOARD TEAM BUILDING, NOT IN FRONT OF THE PUBLIC AND NOT IN FRONT OF KIDS. NOT IN FRONT OF EDM. THIS IS AN INTERNAL ISSUE. THIS IS NOT A PUBLIC FACING ISSUE BECAUSE IT GOES BACK TO MY QUESTION. HOW DOES THIS HELP OUR KIDS DIRECTLY? AND IT DOESN'T THIS IS AMONGST OURSELVES. NOT WITH THAT MAN, THE PARENTS, THE KIDS OR ANYONE ELSE. YOU NAME IT. WE SHOULDN'T EVEN HAVE THIS DISCUSSION ON THE DIET. SO THAT'S WHERE I'M AT. THANK YOU, MISS JONES, MISS MALONE. SO I THINK YOU ARE THE LAST AT THAT POINT, BECAUSE YEAH, WE'RE ALL DONE. THEY ARE ALL DONE. OH, OK, OK. OH, LORD. HAVE MERCY. UM I. I WANNA SAY DOCTOR GILLIAM AND, UM MISS HANNON. I APPRECIATE YOUR APPROACH HERE. I THINK THAT. WHAT WE'VE SEEN AS THE ONE WHO'S BEEN THE SUBJECT OF MUCH SOCIAL MEDIA. UM I. I APPRECIATE THE APPROACH. I THINK THAT, UM A. I REALLY DON'T HAVE WORDS FOR ALL OF THIS TO BE HONEST WITH YOU, BUT THIS HAS BEEN A LOT TO PROCESS. AND I THINK YOUR APPROACH ON HERE IT MAKES SENSE. UM I CAN SEE WHERE YOUR CONCERNS ARE. I SHARE SOME OF YOUR CONCERNS. UM AND SHOULD I CONTINUE TO BE HERE? I THINK I WOULD SUPPORT SOME SOCIAL MEDIA ETHICS. BECAUSE HOW WE SPEAK AND WHAT WE SAY, UM, I BELIEVE IT MATTERS AND I THINK THAT IT'S IMPORTANT AS TO EXERCISE OUR FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHTS, THAT'S FOR SURE. AS FAR AS, UM SPEECH. BUT I DO THINK THAT THE AMOUNT OF, UM DESTRUCTIVE NAME CALLING AND THINGS LIKE THAT ARE BEYOND INAPPROPRIATE. AND STUFF THAT WE DON'T ALLOW AND TOLERATE FROM OUR OWN STUDENTS. SO FIND IT. INTERESTING. UM WHAT WE HAVE IN OUR STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT.

YEAH. WHAT'S NOT BEING FULFILLED AS TRUSTEES FOR A SCHOOL DISTRICT THAT SERVES OVER 100 AND 7070 SQUARE MILES 80,000 KIDS 13,000 EMPLOYEES. UM, I'LL JUST LEAVE IT AT THAT. AND I APPRECIATE Y'ALL AGAIN. IN YOUR ATTEMPT HERE. AND RESPECT IT. THANK YOU, MMM HANAN. UM I APPRECIATE THE BOARD MEMBERS WHO WHO GAVE COMMENT, AND I'M GONNA REMIND YOU AGAIN, OUR BOARD PRESIDENT ASKED DOCTOR GILLIAM AND I TO DO THIS. AND SO WE WANTED TO BRING SOMETHING TO YOU RIGHT? AND THAT'S WHY OUR FOCUS THIS EVENING WAS SOCIAL MEDIA. AND SO UM AND MISS GILLIAM EVEN SAID THAT IN HER INTRODUCTION, YOU KNOW THAT THAT WE, YOU KNOW, I. I WON'T SPEAK FOR DOCTOR GILLIAM. BUT I UNDERSTAND THAT WE'RE A BODY CORPORATE. RIGHT AND I UNDERSTAND THAT OUR OPERATING PROCEDURE SHOULD REFLECT ALL OF US. UM BUT I ALSO KNOW THAT WE SPENT A GREAT DEAL OF TIME AND ENERGY WORKING WITH STAFF ON THE STUDENT CODE OF CONDUCT BECAUSE WE EXPECT OUR STUDENTS, UM TO BEHAVE IN A CERTAIN WAY, AND WE EX YOU KNOW THE BOARD ACTUALLY PRESCRIBED CONSEQUENCES THAT PRINCIPALS HAD TO USE AND SO IT IS ALWAYS MY YOU KNOW, BEFORE I POST ON SOCIAL MEDIA OR BEFORE I OPEN MY MOUTH ON THIS DAIS I, I WANT TO SAY, YOU KNOW, WITH LEADERSHIP, 101 AND 102 WANT TO EMULATE. HOW I CONDUCT MYSELF. AND I. I DO THINK THAT, UM, YOU KNOW, I GET

[01:55:02]

FIRST AMENDMENT RIGHTS AND I WANT I WANT THAT. CERTAINLY YOU KNOW, I DON'T I DON'T WANNA LIMIT SPEECH. BUT I ALSO DO THINK AND WE'VE YOU KNOW, WE'VE WE'VE, UM, ALSO WORKED WITH A ANOTHER TRUSTEE PRIOR TO MISS JONES. UM THAT THAT I DO THINK THAT IN A WAY THAT THAT HAVING A DISCUSSION ABOUT OUR BOARD OPERATING PROCEDURES TO HELP OURSELVES BE BETTER AT WHAT WE DO, BECAUSE THAT'S MY GOAL BECAUSE WHEN WE'RE BETTER AT WHAT WE DO, WE GET TO SPEND MORE OF OUR TIME AND ENERGY FOCUSED ON STUDENT OUTCOMES SUPPORTING OUR STAFF BUILDING TRUST AND THE REAL JOB THAT WE'RE HERE WITH GOVERNANCE. SO I THANK YOU FOR THE TWO MINUTES MISS DAY AND I THINK THIS BOARD AND I DO HOPE WE CAN CONSIDER CONTINUING THIS CONVERSATION. THANK YOU, MR HANNAN. DOCTOR GIDEON. AND THANK YOU, I. I JUST I DO WANNA SHARE AGAIN. UM BASICALLY, YOU KNOW, THE TIME IS LIMITED. THIS IS JUST A LET'S TALK TYPE OF MOMENT IT WAS PROVIDED TO START DIALOGUE AMONG THE BOARD TO ADDRESS HOW WE CAN WORK TOGETHER TO IMPROVE THIS GUIDING DOCUMENT FOR BOARD MEMBERS. AND THANK YOU, MISS DAY. MHM I'M SORRY. THANK YOU, PRESIDENT DAY FOR THAT THAT DAY THAT YOU ASKED, YOU KNOW? HEY. SO AND I, OF COURSE EVERYTHING. YOU YOU SAID TRUSTY HANNON I. I DEFINITELY YOU KNOW, I JUST I. I DID OWE IT . UM IT'S JUST TIME FOR US TO ALL COME TOGETHER. UM WE'RE A TEAM. WHEN WE GO TO OUR CONFERENCES. AND TASBY. IT'S A MATTER OF MAKING. SH IT'S SEVEN YOU KNOW, WE HAVE A TEAM. AND WE HAVEN'T WORKED. THAT GREAT. I DON'T IF THERE'S ANYTHING THAT I SAID TO OFFEND, IT DEFINITELY WASN'T OR THAT WAS OFFENSIVE. IT WASN'T I DIDN'T MEAN TO BE OFFEND ANYONE. AT ALL. I. I WANT TO BE ABLE TO COME AND START TALKING ABOUT OUR 80,000 STUDENTS AND EDUCATING OUR STUDENTS. AND SO I THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME, AND, UH PRESIDENT DAY . THANK YOU FOR THE, UH, THE PRIVILEGE OF BRINGING THIS TODAY. AND UM, THANK YOU, TRUSTY HANNON FOR SHARING WITH ME AND WE DID WE TOOK A LONG TIME TO MAKE SURE THAT IT. IT WAS JUST ABOUT A TEAM. IT'S ABOUT A TEAM. IT'S NOT ANYTHING ELSE? TRUSTEE.

GARCIA. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INPUT. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INPUT. TRUST HIM ALONE AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR INPUT. TRUSTEE, JONES. THANK YOU. THANK YOU, DOCTOR, GILLIAN. MR GARCIA. NO. SORRY.

OH, MISS JONES, I THINK WE'RE ALL GOOD. OK SO I'M GONNA CLEAR SO I'M GONNA MAKE A FEW COMMENTS. UH, I WANTED TO SHARE LIKE MS GARCIA SAID. THIS IS OFFICIALLY MY LAST FOUR MEETING.

AS YOU KNOW, UM, ON THE 13TH. I WILL OPEN THE BOARD MEETING, BUT I'M NOT GONNA MANAGE THE MEETING RUN THE MEETING. SO I WANTED TO SHARE THE REASON I ASKED DOCTOR GILLIAM MY NAME IS HANNAN WORKING ON THIS DOCUMENT FOR THE PAST YEAR. IT'S BEEN VERY CHALLENGING. UH I WANTED TO SHARE SOME TIME WHEN I SAW, FOR EXAMPLE, LET'S JUST SAY MR HAMILTON MADE A FACEBOOK POST.

VERY OFTEN. I WILL CALL HIM AND I WILL SAY, OR MISS HAMILTON WILL CALL ME AND SEE MISS DAY.

I'M GONNA ABOUT TO POST SOMETHING. SO WE DO HAVE A CONVERSATIONS. UM I RESPECT EVERY SINGLE BOARD MEMBER. YOU ALL HAVE DIFFERENT PASSIONS YOU HAVE YOU WANTED TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE. TO THIS DISTRICT WITH YOUR BEST INTEREST FOR THE DISTRICT. I TRULY BELIEVE THAT AND THAT BEING SAID THERE'S A BIG CHALLENGE AS A BOARD BOARD PRESIDENT, UM TO TELL ONE TRUSTEE WHAT THEY CAN OR CANNOT DO, BECAUSE WE DON'T HAVE A CLEAR GUIDELINE. THAT'S REALLY THE REASON. UH, I WANTED TO BRING THIS TO THIS BOARD AND TO THE NEW BOARD AND THE BOARD HAVE TO BUY IN FOR THE FOR THE GUIDELINE IN ORDER TO FOLLOW. AND THIS IS BASICALLY THE HONOR CODE RIGHT? IT'S NOT ALLOWED. IT'S NOT LIKE IT'S HARD TO ENFORCE. SO IF EVERYONE AGREED TO IT, THEN THAT'S THAT WILL BE MOVED THIS BOARD TOGETHER. THAT'S THAT'S MY THOUGHT.

ANOTHER THING I'M GONNA SHARE, WHICH IS ALSO VERY HARD FOR ME. UM I WANTED TO SEE WHAT IS THE

[02:00:01]

BIGGEST CHALLENGE FOR ME FOR THE PAST FEW MONTHS. I I'M I'M GONNA SAY THIS, UM I FEEL THE BOARD THE MAJORITY OF THE BOARD. ACTUALLY I'LL JUST SAY THE SIX MEMBER OF THE BOARD I FEEL WE GET PUNISHED BECAUSE WE WANT TO FOLLOW THE RULE AND OBEY THE LAW. SO THERE'S FALSE INFORMATION BEING SAID FROM THIS DIET OR POSTED ON THE FACEBOOK VERY FALSE INFORMATION THAT DISRUPTIVE TO THE DISTRICT. BUT I CANNOT CORRECT THAT INFORMATION BECAUSE THE ONLY WAY TO CORRECT THIS IS TO DISCLOSE WHAT WE HAD DISCUSSED IN THE CLOSED SESSION. WHICH I'M NOT WILLING TO DO IT. SO THAT'S ALSO THE REASON I FEEL IF WE HAVE OPERATING PROCEDURE WHEN THERE'S I THINK A COLD SAYING WE TELL THE TRUTH. SO WHAT HAPPENS IF ONE BOARD MEMBER DECIDE NOT TO TELL THE TRUTH? WHAT CAN WE DO? SO THOSE ARE THE QUESTIONS I WANT TO PUT OUT THERE? FOR LATER ON FOR THE FUTURE, THE NEW BOARD TO HAVE A DISCUSSION, SO I GUESS MY, UM TWO MINUTES ARE UP. AND SO I WANNA THANK YOU ALL MY TRUSTEES. THANK YOU, MISS JONES. DOCTOR GILLIAM. RECENT HAMILTON AND MISS HANNAH AND DOCTOR UH MISS GARCIA. TO WAITING TO I WORK TOGETHER WITH ME, AND, UM I REALLY HOPE IN MAY WHEN THE NEWBORN MEMBER COME IN, AND YOU GO, YOU GUYS CAN HAVE A TEAM BUILDING. AND DISCUSS THIS DOCUMENT. AND AS A GUIDELINE TO MOVE THIS SPORT FORWARD, SO THAT BEING SAID, THANK YOU, EVERYONE. AND THANK YOU, DOCTOR GILLIAM AND MS HANNAN FOR YOUR HARD WORK , I DO BELIEVE IT'S IMPORTANT TO HAVE A BOARD OPERATING PROCEDURE AS A GUIDELINE. VERY IMPORTANT.

[13. Consent Agenda]

OK THAT BEING SAID WE'RE GOING TO MOVE TO OUR TO THE NEXT ONE, WHICH IS CONSENT AGENDA BEFORE WE VOTE ON THIS, UM, IS THERE ANYONE NEEDS TO PULL ANY ITEM? YES. MISS JONES. UM 13 B. BE YES, AND THAT'S THE ONLY ONE FOR ME. OK, THANK YOU. IS THERE ANY OTHER ITEM NEEDS TO BE PULLED YES. MISTER HAMILTON. UM ITEM 13 H. OK? SO WE HAVE WE PULLED THE 13 B AND 13 H. IS THERE ANY OTHER ITEM? NO SO CAN I HAVE A MOTION FOR THE REST OF THE ITEM? YES MADAM PRESIDENT. I MOVE THE BOARD TO APPROVE CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS. UH, 13. A THROUGH WITH EXCEPTION OF B. AND AS PRESENTED. SORRY THE LINE. THERE'S A I. OH, I'M SORRY I MISSED I I'M SORRY. SO, YES, I MOVED THE BOARD TO APPROVE CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS. 13, A LET'S JUST START THIS AGAIN. 13 A CD EF. GH I OK? AT H. I'M SO WELL I WAS OK. I'M SORRY. LET'S START IT AGAIN. I MOVED THE BOARD TO APPROVE CONSENT AGENDA ITEMS. 13 A 13 C 13 DEFG. I AND THROUGH SEVEN 89 1011. AS PRESENTED. SECOND WE HAVE A MOTION MADE BY DOCTOR GILLIAM, SECOND BY MS HANNAN. DO WE HAVE DISCUSSION? X, NO PEACEFUL. MOTION PASSES 70. CAN I HAVE A MOTION FOR, UM AGENDAS? 13 B,

[13.B. 2024-25 New Positions: Consideration and approval of new positions to support District strategic priorities guidelines for the 2024-25 school year.]

PLEASE. I MOVE THE BOARD TO APPROVE CONSENT AGENDA ITEM 13. THE AS PRESENTED WE HAVE A MOTION BY DOCTOR GILLIAM SECOND BY MS HANNAN. DO WE HAVE A DISCUSSION? MISS JONES? OK SO FOR 13 B, I NEED DOCTOR SMITH TO CLARIFY, UH, SOMETHING IN REGARDS TO 13 B. UM I UNDERSTAND , AND I'VE BEEN RECEIVING A LOT OF, UH, CHATTER FROM THE COMMUNITY AS FAR AS NEW POSITIONS. DOES INCLUDE BECAUSE THERE'S SOME TALK ABOUT 30 NEW POSITIONS, OR 30. TEACHERS ARE

[02:05:05]

BEING HIRED FOR SPED. CAN YOU CLARIFY THIS ITEM? FOR THE PUBLIC. YES UM, THE ITEM BEFORE YOU, UH, IS FOR THE BOARD TO CONSIDER A NEW POSITIONS TO SUPPORT THE DISTRICT'S STRATEGIC PRIORITIES AND STAFFING GUIDELINES SPECIFICALLY RELATED TO SPECIAL ED. AND THE NUMBER OF EVALUATIONS AND RE EVALUATION THAT WE ARE UNDERTAKING. AS WELL AS THE, UH TEACHERS FOR ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE AND THE A FOR ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE AND SOME FINE ARTS. UH, A FINE ARTS POSITION FOR MIDDLE SCHOOLS. AND SO THESE ARE, UM ARE A PART OF THE STAFFING GUIDELINES THAT, UH, WE HAVE BEEN WORKING WITH TO SUPPORT THE NEEDS OF OUR STUDENTS. I ALSO WANNA ASK, UM MR G TO ELABORATE A LITTLE BIT MORE FROM THE BUDGET SIDE OF THINGS. THANK YOU . EXCUSE ME. THANK YOU, DR SMITH . SO THE POSITIONS THAT ARE BEING REQUESTED FOR THE TEACHER OR THE MULTILINGUAL AND THE FINE ARTS POSITIONS. THOSE ARE AS DR SMITH MENTIONED STAFFING GUIDELINES BASE AND BECAUSE OF THE WORK THAT OCCURS ON THE MASTER SCHEDULE, THEY WERE NOT PART OF THE INITIAL REQUEST THAT WAS APPROVED BY THE BOARD IN MARCH. SO THIS IS COMING IN AFTER THE FACT AND ONCE MASTER SCHEDULES ARE A LITTLE MORE FORMED, PROVIDING THOSE ADDITIONAL SUPPORTS ON THE SPECIAL EDUCATION COMPONENT. BASED ON THE ANTICIPATED WORKLOAD THAT A SPECIAL ED DEPARTMENT HAS IDENTIFIED FOR THE UPCOMING SCHOOL YEAR IN TERMS OF INITIAL EVALUATIONS AS WELL AS REEVALUATIONS, THESE WOULD BE THE STAFF THAT WOULD SUPPORT THAT WORK, ALTHOUGH IT'S NOT INCLUDED HERE TONIGHT AND WILL BE INCLUDED IN A FUTURE BOARD WORKSHOP THAT WOULD ALSO BE CONTRACT WORK WITH OUTSIDE FACILITATORS THAT WOULD ASSIST WITH THIS AS WELL. BUT THIS IS THE POSITION RELATED REQUEST THAT THE DISTRICT NEEDS IN ORDER TO MOVE THAT WORK FORWARD. THANK YOU. THANK YOU FOR THE VERIFICATION AND FROM A BUDGET PERSPECTIVE BECAUSE WE ARE ADDING THE STAFF, WE ANTICIPATE A HIGHER RATE OF IDENTIFICATION FOR SPED STUDENTS. AND SO WE'RE ANTICIPATING ABOUT $4 MILLION IN ADDITIONAL STATE REVENUE TO HELP OFFSET THE COST OF THESE POSITIONS BEFORE SO THAT LAST QUESTION IN THE FUTURE FOR I. I HEAR A LOT ABOUT THE CAREER COUNSELORS AND THE SCHOOLS ARE NOT HAVING ENOUGH OF THOSE. WILL YOU BE AT SOME POINT COMING TO THE BOARD FOR MORE POSITIONS IN THAT AREA AS WELL AS PART OF THAT, UH, STRATEGIC PRIORITY AS WELL. SO UH, WE ARE IN THE PROCESS OF, OF COURSE, PLANTING THE BUDGET FOR THE 2425 SCHOOL YEAR. UM AS WE GO THROUGH THAT PROCESS, THERE WILL BE A NUMBER OF POSITIONS, INCLUDING THE ONES YOU REFERENCED THE CCMR AND WILL BE, UH, BRINGING TO THE BOARD FOR CONSIDERATION OF SUPPORTING. OK, THANK YOU. THANK YOU, MISS JONES. THANK YOU, MR GUAN AND DOCTOR SMITH, MISS MALONE. YES. I JUST WANT TO ELABORATE ON THIS SPECIAL ED POSITIONS. I SEE.

THEY'RE 32 ON THE LIST. UM AND I KNOW YOU MENTIONED THE POSITIONS, BUT I SEE ON HERE A SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST 13 OF THEM. AND THEN WE'VE GOT THE ASSISTANTS AS WELL FOR THAT, AS WELL AS SPECIALIST IN SCHOOL SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGY AND FACILITATORS FOR ART IS THAT IS THIS ALL THIS IS ALL ACCURATE, RIGHT? YES, MA'AM. THAT IS CORRECT. OK SO, I, I JUST WANT TO GIVE A SHOUT OUT BECAUSE I'M SUPER EXCITED. YOU KNOW, ROME WASN'T BUILT IN A DAY, BUT, UM I APPRECIATE YOUR WORK WITH ONE ADDRESSING THE BACKLOG WITH DIAGNOSING THE KIDS, AND THEN IN ADDITION TO THAT, PUTTING THE FUNDING THERE TO SUPPORT SPECIAL EDUCATION AND TO MAKE A DENT IN IT. ALSO WITH THE INTENT, WHICH YOU MENTIONED LAST TIME OF NOT ONLY CONTINUING TO DIAGNOSE THE KIDS, BUT ADDRESS THE RE EVALUATIONS. AND THESE ARE THE KIND OF THINGS THAT HONESTLY REALLY EXCITE ME. BECAUSE I FEEL LIKE WE'RE WE'RE PUTTING OUR MONEY WHERE IT'S MOST IMPACTFUL, AND I JUST GENUINELY SUPPORT IT, AND I'M EXCITED ABOUT IT. I MEAN, THE OTHER STUFF IS GREAT, TOO. BUT WHEN I SEE BIG THINGS LIKE THAT, UM I FEEL LIKE WE'RE CLIMBING THE MOUNTAIN. SO THANK YOU VERY MUCH. THANK YOU, MS MALONE. SO THANK YOU, MISS JONES FOR ASKING THIS QUESTION, SO I JUST WANT TO CLARIFY. THE REASON I WANT TO CLARIFY IS, UM, A FEW DAYS AGO, I GOT QUITE A FEW.

MESSAGES AND SAYING, WE ARE TELLING PEOPLE WE HIRED. WE ALREADY HIRED 34 SPECIAL ED PERSONNEL IN THE DISTRICT, SO I JUST WANT TO CLARIFY THOSE ARE THE NEW POSITIONS THEY ARE NOT

[02:10:04]

BEING HIRED. IS THAT CORRECT? SO THE PEOPLE ARE NOT READY ALREADY HERE, WORKING YES, MA'AM. THAT IS CORRECT. THESE WILL BE NEW ADDITIONS. A NEW HEAD COUNT BEING ADDED TO OUR OVERALL HEAD COUNT. AND ALSO THIS. THIS NEW POSITION IS BECAUSE THE ENROLLMENT INCREASE FOR THE SPECIAL ED STUDENTS. WELL THE ANTICIPATION IS BECAUSE WE ARE ADDING THESE POSITIONS, WE WILL BE ABLE TO COMPLETE INITIAL EVALUATIONS MORE QUICKLY, THEREFORE, ADDING THOSE STUDENTS TO OUR OVERALL WHAT'S CALLED THE FTE COUNT AND TRIGGER THE STATE TO BEGIN PAYING US THOSE REVENUES. THANK YOU SO MUCH, SO THAT BEING SAID LET'S VOTE.

MOTION PASSES 70. NEXT CAN I HAVE A MOTION FOR 13, PLEASE? A MOVE TO PROVE ITEM 13 H AS

[13.H. TEKS Certification: Consideration and approval of the 2024-25 TEKS Certification form and survey to TEA.]

PRESENTED SECOND WE HAVE A MOTION BY MS MALONE, SECOND BY MS HANNAN. DO WE HAVE A DISCUSSION? MISS MISS MALONE? THIS IS ME. OK, WELL, I'LL ASK MY QUESTION FIRST, THEN UM SO DOCTOR SMITH. I KNOW WE'VE HAD DISCUSSIONS ON THIS, BUT I ALSO HAVE HAD FOLKS IN THE COMMUNITY REACH OUT TO ME. AND SO I JUST WANNA ASK A FEW QUESTIONS. IF THAT'S OK, DIRECTED AT YOU, MISS HUBBARD, PLEASE. UM SO I KNOW THERE'S BEEN THE GUIDANCE AND THE CHANGES RECENTLY WITH THREE QUEUING AND WE HAVE A VENDOR ON THE LIST THAT I THINK THERE ARE CONCERNS. OF POTENTIAL THREE Q.

AND CAN YOU JUST EXPLAIN NUMBER ONE? HOW FONTS AND PINELLAS CANAL IS HOW WE UTILIZE THEIR PROGRAM NUMBER ONE AND THEN NUMBER TWO. CAN YOU CONFIRM? WE ARE IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE LAW AND FOLLOWING TE A GUIDELINES, PLEASE. SO THE LAW, UM, SPECIFIC TO THE PHONICS, INSTRUCTIONAL PIECES, UM, OUTLINED IN THE BILL, AND THAT'S WHERE THE THREE QUEUING COMES IN. UM WE ARE NOT UTILIZING F AND PENAL PHONICS AND WORD STUDY. IN, UM IN OUR K THREE CLASSROOMS. SO WE ARE USING OUR DAILY SCRIPTED CURRICULUM. WITH THE, UM SUPPLEMENTAL DECODABLE TEXT. FOR THAT ALIGNMENT TO UM TO THE STATUTE. WE WERE ABLE TO HAVE A CONVERSATION WITH TE A ON FRIDAY AFTERNOON, UM, ASSOCIATE COMMISSIONER, UM OF THE INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES COMPONENT, UM AND WE WALKED HIM THROUGH OUR MODEL OF INSTRUCTION FOR PHONICS INSTRUCTION, AND HE TOLD US THAT IT SOUNDS AS IF WE HAVE THE COMPONENTS THAT MEET THE STATUTE FOR, UM, FOR OUR TIER ONE INSTRUCTION. SO UM, WE'RE GLAD THAT WE GOT THAT CALL. I'M LATE FRIDAY AFTERNOON JUST TO HAVE THAT LAYER OF CONFIRMATION. UM AND WE ARE SUPPLEMENTING NOW TO YOUR QUESTION ABOUT HOW WE'RE USING F SPEL. WE ARE USING THE FOUNTAS AND BAL CLASSROOM RESOURCES, AND THAT MEANS THE TECH LIKE THE TEXT AND SO WE CAN USE THAT FOR COMPREHENSION. WE CAN USE IT IN CLASSROOM LIBRARIES. WE CAN PUT THE BOOKS IN THE BOOK BAGS. UM, BUT WE'RE NOT USING THE F AND B NOW. PHONICS IN WORD STUDY COMPONENTS, UM OK, SO WE ARE IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE LAW. THANK YOU VERY MUCH. UM, I APPRECIATE THAT. EXPLANATION. THANK YOU, MISS MALONE. MR HAMILTON. UH, THANK YOU FOR THAT. SO TWO QUESTIONS. THE FIRST QUESTION WE WE'RE ALSO USING FTA BANEL FOR THE INTERVENTION SIDE OF THE EQUATION, CAN YOU EXPLAIN THAT AND THEN ALSO CONFIRM THAT THAT'S NOT IN VIOLATION OF THE LAW. SO WE ARE CURRENTLY USING LEVELED LITERACY INTERVENTION.

AND SO THERE ARE COMPONENTS OF THE THERE IS ONE COMPONENT OF THE LEVEL OF LITERACY INTERVENTION THAT'S REFERENCED IN THE TEACHING MATERIALS. IT'S NOT PART OF THE SCRIPTED LESSON IT SAYS SUPPLEMENTAL RESOURCE. UM IT IS PROMPTING QUESTIONS SO WE ARE NOT PROMOTING THE USE OF THE PROMPTING GUIDE. WITH OUR LL I INTERVENTION. UM WE HAVE BEEN TRAINING OUR LITERACY INTERVENTIONISTS THIS YEAR AND MODELING FOR THEM. THE USE OF EXPLICIT PHONICS INSTRUCTION AND THE RESOURCES THAT THEY SHOULD BE USING IN THE CURRICULUM. SO WE ARE NOT PROMOTING THE USE OF THE PROMPTING GUIDE. IT IS REFERENCED IN THE TEACHER AND THE TE EDITION. UM BUT WE ARE

[02:15:05]

NOT UTILIZING THAT WE ARE PROMOTING THE USE OF EXPLICIT PHONICS INSTRUCTION. AND UM, WE'VE BEEN MODELING THAT WITH OUR INTERVENTIONISTS THIS YEAR. THANK YOU FOR THAT. SO THE LITERACY NUMBERS DO SEEM TO BE SHOWING MORE PROGRESS THIS YEAR THAN LAST YEAR THAT THAT MAYBE UH, LOOKING TOO MUCH AT THE FOREST AND YOU AND YOU KIND OF SEE THE TREE LEVEL. SO WOULD YOU AGREE WITH THAT, OR WE'RE GETTING GOOD FEEDBACK FROM OUR TEACHERS. SO THAT'S WHAT I'LL SAY, UM, POSITIVE FEEDBACK. UH, SO THEN LAST QUESTION, SO, UM, IN ADDITION TO THE PHONE CALL ON FRIDAY, DID WE GET ANY ANY EMAIL OR WRITTEN COMMUNICATION FROM TE A ON THIS? WE DIDN'T. BUT WE HAVE GOTTEN THE CELL PHONE NUMBER OF, UM, MR DAVIS, AND HE SAID WE CAN REACH OUT TO HIM ANY TIME, SO I THINK WE'LL GET SOME IMMEDIATE. UH WE'VE GOT SOME IMMEDIATE CONTACT INFORMATION THAT WE'RE HAPPY TO HAVE, UM AND I DO WANT TO CONFIRM WE ARE NOT PROMOTING LIKE WE'RE NOT PROMOTING THREE QING SYSTEM IN FORT BENNY SD. THANK YOU. THANK YOU, MR HAMILTON. MISS HUBBARD.

I JUST WANT TO CONFIRM BECAUSE THIS IS YOUR EXPERTISE. I JUST WANNA CONFIRM WE ARE BY APPROVING THIS ITEM FOUR BY NINE. D ARE COMPLYING WITH THE STATE LAW AND THE TE A REGULATION. IS THAT CORRECT? YES AND ESSENTIALLY WHAT YOU'RE APPROVING IS THAT WE ARE COVERING THE TIS. YES THANK YOU. THANK YOU FOR THAT, MISS HANNAN. SORRY I DIDN'T SEE YOUR NAME.

UM, I WANTED TO TELL MISS HUBBARD. THANK YOU FOR THAT EXPLANATION, AND I'M VERY GLAD TO HEAR THAT YOU REACHED OUT TO TEA. I APPRECIATE THAT. AND YOU KNOW WHAT? I? I WANT TO JUST SHOUT OUT! TO EVERYBODY IN THIS DISTRICT, ESPECIALLY OUR EARLY OUR OUR TEACHERS THAT TEACH EARLY READING BECAUSE IT'S NO, IT'S NO EASY TASK, RIGHT? AND SO WE KNOW THE PENDULUM HAS SWUNG BECAUSE OUR LEGISLATURE, YOU KNOW, OUR LEGISLATURE HAS SPOKEN , UM, YOU KNOW, AND, YOU KNOW.

YOU KNOW, II. I WISH THEY ALL HAD A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF READING. UM AND HOW TO TEACH READING, BUT THEY DON'T. AND SO I THINK YOU KNOW MANY OF US THAT HAVE BEEN ON THE BOARD FOR SEVERAL YEARS. YOU KNOW, WE'VE BEEN HANDED QUITE A FEW THINGS FROM OUR STATE LEGISLATURE THAT THAT YOU KNOW, I. I DON'T NECESSARILY AGREE WITH 100% AND DON'T KNOW THAT THAT WERE BEING 100% SUPPORTED. BUT I DO WANNA THANK YOU AGAIN. AND I WANNA THANK OUR TEACHERS OF READING.

UM AND, UH, YOU KNOW WHAT? I THINK THAT'S GREAT. I THINK I LOVE TO HEAR THAT. YOU KNOW, SOME SCORES ARE GOING UP AND THAT WE'RE FOCUSED ON LITERACY. THAT'S A REFRESHING THING TO FOCUS ON STUDENTS. THANK YOU. THANK YOU, MISS HANNAN. THANK YOU, MISS HUBBARD. THANK YOU.

THANK YOU, DOCTOR SMITH, SO PLEASE VOTE. MOTION PASSES 70. SO NEXT. OH,

[14. Convene in closed session]

I'M SORRY. NOW IT'S CLOSED SESSION. SO NOW WE ARE NOW COMING IN CLOSED SESSION UNDER TEXAS OPEN MEETING ACT, TEXAS GOVERNMENT CALLED CHAPTERS 551. UNDER THE FOLLOWING SECTIONS SECTION 5051071 FOR THE PURPOSE OF PRIVATE CONSULTATION WITH THE BOARD ATTORNEY ON ANY OR ALL SUBJECTS OR MATTERS AUTHORIZED BY LAW. SECTION 551072 CONSIDER PURCHASE EXCHANGE LEASE OR VALUE OF REAL PROPERTY SECTION 551074 PERSONNEL MATTERS SECTION 551076 SECURITY MATTERS SECTION 551082 STUDENT DISCIPLINE MATTER OR COMPLAINT SECTION 55108 21 PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION ABOUT PUBLIC SCHOOL STUDENT. THE TIME IS 9:14 THE TIME NOW IS 10:42 P.M. AND

[15. Reconvene in Open Session]

[16. Consider Action on Closed Session Items]

WE ARE RECONVENING IN OPEN SESSION. UH, WE HAVE FEEL ACTION ITEM FROM CLOSE SESSION. THE FIRST ONE IS 14 B. YOU CAN I HAVE THE MOTION. 14 B, PLEASE. YES MADAM PRESIDENT. I MOVE THAT THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES ASSIGN THE LEVEL THREE FNG PARENT COMPLAINT OF CHRISTOPHER AND VERONICA S TO THE BOARD'S DESIGNATED HEARING OFFICER UNDER BOARD POLICY. FNG LOCAL A SECOND. WE HAVE A MOTION BY DOCTOR GILLIAM SECONDED BY MS MALONE. DO WE HAVE DISCUSSION? MM. NO, PLEASE.

[02:20:19]

MOTION PASSES 70. CAN WE CAN I HAVE A MOTION FOR 14? C PLEASE? YES I MOVED AT THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES ASSIGNED THE LEVEL THREE FNG PARENT COMPLAINT OF DAVID AND CHRISTINA B TO THE BOARD'S DESIGNATED HEARING OFFICER UNDER BOARD POLICY. FNG LOCAL SECOND WE HAVE A MOTION BY DOCTOR GIDEON SECONDED BY MS HANNAN. DO WE HAVE A DISCUSSION? SEE X YANG, PLEASE VOTE. MOTION PASSES 70. CAN I HAVE A MOTION FOR 14 D, PLEASE? MHM 14 D. I MOVE. THE BOARD AUTHORIZED THE RELEASE OF THE WRITTEN INVESTIGATION REPORT TO THE PUBLIC AND THAT THE BOARD APPROVE A WAIVER OF THE ATTORNEY CLIENT PRIVILEGE LIMITED TO THE RELEASE OF THE REPORT. A SECOND.

WE HAVE A MOTION BY MR GARCIA, SECOND BY DOCTOR GAM. UH, BEFORE I OPEN FOR DISCUSSION, UM MR BRUSH, CAN YOU CLARIFY THIS ITEM. FOR THE PUBLIC AND FOR THE BOARD, PLEASE. THANK YOU.

CERTAINLY THE INVESTIGATION REPORT IS CURRENTLY AN ATTORNEY CLIENT PRIVILEGED DOCUMENT. THE MOTION BEFORE THE BOARD WOULD WAIVE THE ATTORNEY CLIENT PRIVILEGE SOLELY AS TO THE WRITTEN REPORT. SO FOR PURPOSES OF THE BOARD'S DELIBERATION ON THIS MOTION, ANY DISCUSSION SHOULD BE LIMITED TO WHY THE BOARD WOULD WAIVE THE REPORT, BUT NOT THE CONTENT. I'M SORRY WAY OF THE PRIVILEGE BUT SHOULD NOT INCLUDE DISCUSSION OF THE CONTENTS OF THE REPORT BECAUSE THE REPORT IS UNTIL THE BOARD VOTES TO WAIVE THE PRIVILEGE. REMAINS PRIVILEGED. ONLY THE BOARD BY MAJORITY VOTE CAN WAIVE THE ATTORNEY CLIENT PRIVILEGE BECAUSE IT IS OWNED BY THE BOARD AS A BODY CORPORATE THANK YOU, MR BRUSH. UM SO BASICALLY, I JUST WANT TO REMIND EVERYONE IF YOU HAVE WE HAVE A DISCUSSION. DO NOT REFER TO ANY CONTENTS OF THE REPORT, AND I'M GONNA START WITH UM M GARCIA. YOU DON'T HAVE ANY. OKAY, SO, MR HAMILTON UH, YES, IT JUST, UM, KEEPING IT TO THE MATTER AT HAND. UM SO THE BOARD WAS NOTIFIED THE BOARD AND THE PUBLIC WERE NOTIFIED EARLIER THIS YEAR THAT THE BOND WAS PROJECTING TO BE THE BOND THAT JUST PASSED IN MAY, 2023 WAS PROJECTING TO BE $132.6 MILLION ABOVE BUDGET. THE ADMINISTRATION HAS DONE A LOT OF GREAT WORK TO NARROW THAT. PROBLEM SINCE THEN, UM HOWEVER, I. I BELIEVE THAT, UH, THAT THAT DOING THE INVESTIGATION INITIALLY AND THEN AND NOW RELEASING THE REPORT, UH, IS NECESSARY SO THAT THE BOARD CAN DO OUR DUTY TO THE PUBLIC, UH, TO PROVIDE TRANSPARENCY AND ACCOUNTABILITY TO THIS MATTER. THANK YOU. THANK YOU, MR HAMILTON, MISS MALONE. OK I'M GONNA BE RATHER BRIEF HERE. BUT I JUST WANNA EXPLAIN, UM, MY VOTE TO THE PUBLIC PRIOR TO CASTING IT. SO YOU UNDERSTAND WHERE I'M COMING FROM. IT'S ALREADY EXPRESSED CONCERNS OVER. UM, THE FIRM CONDUCTING THE INVESTIGATION. BEING THE BOARD THE BOARD FIRM THAT'S BEEN, UH, HEAVILY INVOLVED WITH US. IN ADDITION TO THAT, I'LL SAY THAT, UM, AUDIT MEMBERS DID RECEIVE THIS REPORT LAST WEDNESDAY. WE RECEIVED IT THIS EVENING. UM AROUND LIKE 1015 1020 PM, AND I THINK A MATTER OF PROCESSING THE REPORT AND THE TIME TO DO SO. I DON'T FEEL LIKE I'VE HAD TO THROW A THOROUGH ENOUGH AMOUNT OF TIME. UM TO MOVE FORWARD. THANK YOU. THANK YOU, MISS MALONE. DO WE HAVE ANY OTHER COMMENTS? MR GARCIA? THANK YOU, MADAM PRESIDENT. UM AND I HAD ASKED, UM ARE THE PERSON MICKEY MORRIS CONDUCTING. THE INVESTIGATION TO PROVIDE ME WITH A LITTLE SUMMARY BACKGROUND. UM AND LET ME PULL THAT UP REAL QUICK. BECAUSE I THINK IT'S IMPORTANT BECAUSE THERE HAS BEEN QUESTIONS ABOUT THIS BEING CONDUCTED BY A BOARD ATTORNEY THAT IS HIRED BY THE BOARD. AT THE END OF THE DAY. IT IS, UH, AN EXTERNAL INVESTIGATION. IT'S NOT AN INTERNAL INVESTIGATION

[02:25:02]

BECAUSE THE SCHOOL DISTRICT IS NOT CONDUCTING THE INVESTIGATION THEMSELVES. SO SECOND. SO FOR OVER 25 YEARS, THIS IS THE, UM BIO FOR MICHELLE MORRIS, WHO CONDUCTED THE REPORT. FOR OVER 25 YEARS, HER PRACTICE HAS BEEN FOCUSED IN THE AREA OF CONSTRUCTION FACILITIES BUSINESS LAW AS DETAILED IN THE BIO ON HER FIRM'S WEBSITE. FOR THE ENTIRETY OF HER 25 YEARS OF PRACTICE. SHE'S WORKED VERY CLOSELY WITH MANY SCHOOL DISTRICTS AND COMMUNITY COLLEGE.

COLLEGES THROUGHOUT THE STATE. TO ADVISE BOTH ADMINISTRATIONS AND BOARDS ON LEGAL COMPLIANCE AND BEST PRACTICES IN BOND PROGRAMS. CAPITAL PROJECTS, INCLUDING A ISD FORT WORTH ISD, HOUSTON, ISD. HOUSTON COMMUNITY COLLEGE KDISD. KISD LAMAR ISD AND MANY OTHERS. SHE'S PROVIDED AN INVESTIGATION AND OPERATIONAL AUDITING SERVICES. FOR THE GOVERNMENTAL ENTITIES IN CONNECTION WITH THEIR BOND PROGRAMS, INCLUDING THE H DURING THEIR LARGE SHORTFALL CRISIS FROM ITS 2022 BOND PROGRAM. ADDITIONALLY SHE HAS CONDUCTED BOND PROGRAM. OPERATIONAL AUDITS IN RECENT YEARS FOR CONROE IS D, AUSTIN ISD AND A COMMUNITY COLLEGE. SHE'S A CERTIFICATION COURSE INSTRUCTOR. FOR THE TEXAS ASSOCIATION OF SCHOOL BUSINESS OFFICIALS AND CONDUCT STATEWIDE TRAININGS AND PRESENTATIONS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. AT THE TAS BS CONSTRUCTION ACADEMY OPERATIONS ACADEMY, THE TAS BB BUILDING AND BEYOND SERIES. FINALLY SHE SERVED AS GUEST FACULTY LECTURER ON LEGAL ISSUES RELATED TO CONSTRUCTION AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT AT K 12.

SUPERINTENDENT CANDIDATES IN THE DOCTOR PROGRAM AT TEXAS A AND M UNIVERSITY WHERE UM, COINCIDENTALLY, A FORMER SUPERINTENDENT, DOCTOR WHITBECK WAS ONE OF THE A AND M SUPERINTENDENT CANDIDATE STUDENTS TO WHOM SHE PRESENTED TO IN 2022. SO THIS IS A SUMMARY THAT THAT I ASKED BECAUSE THERE HAD BEEN SOME QUESTIONS AND, YOU KNOW, WHILE WE CERTAINLY DO APPRECIATE THE UM UH, THE CONVERSATION AND FOR THE REASONING AS TO WHY THE REPORT WASN'T REALLY RELEASED TO THE FULL BOARD. I THINK WE'VE ALL HAD SEVERAL ISSUES, WITH CERTAIN BOARD MEMBERS DISCLOSING ATTORNEY CLIENT PRIVILEGE INFORMATION BEFORE IS ACTUALLY RELEASE. SO I THINK THAT WAS ALSO A CAUSE FOR CONCERN. SO I THINK IF AND IF WE NEED MORE TIME TO REVIEW THE REPORT BEFORE WE ACTUALLY WAIVE ON AND I'M MORE THAN HAPPY TO GO BACK IN CLOSE SESSION AND WAIT FOR EVERYBODY TO CONTINUE TO READ THE REPORT, THE REPORT HAS A VERY DETAILED SUMMARY OF FINDINGS IN IT. UH, I THINK WE'VE GOT A VERY GOOD THOROUGH REVIEW FROM MISS MORRIS ON THE CONTENTS OF THE REPORT. AND WITH THAT, UM, THAT'S ALL I HAVE.

THANK YOU, MISS GARCIA, MISS MALONE. YES GREAT SUMMARY. UM THE ONE THING I DIDN'T MENTION IN GUYS, IT'S LATE. SO, UM DEFINITELY GETTING A LITTLE BRAIN FOG HERE. UM IT'S JUST THE OTHER THING WAS THE BOND OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE. I KNOW THEY HAD EXPRESSED DURING THEIR MEETING THAT THEY WANTED TO BE A PART OF THIS PROCESS, AND THEY WANT TO DO, UM, BE PART OF THAT INVESTIGATION WHILE I REALIZE MY YOU KNOW, FELLOW TRUSTEES DON'T SUPPORT THE SAME THING THAT THAT I DO. THAT'S FINE. I CAN RESPECT THAT. I JUST WANT YOU TO UNDERSTAND MY VOTE. UM THE OTHER THING, MR GARCIA, THOUGH, THAT I AM GOING TO STATE, UM, REGARDING THIS WHOLE RELEASE OF ATTORNEY CLIENT PRIVILEGE, AND I GET WHAT YOU'RE SAYING. BUT THE TE IS THE GOVERNING AUTHORITY OVER THIS DISTRICT AND I HAVE NOT RELEASED ANYTHING AND I DON'T APPRECIATE THOSE IN INNUENDOS WHATSOEVER OR STATEMENTS. THANK YOU. S. SO, UM MISS BRUSH, CAN YOU? UH, YOU KNOW, EXPLAIN IF ANY BOARD MEMBER CAN DISCLOSE THE ATTORNEY CLIENT INFORMATION TO TE, A BOARD MEMBERS SHOULD NOT I CALL? THE QUESTION IS THAT YOUR MAIN IS THAT IS MY IS MS QUESTION JERMAINE TO THIS. THIS DISCUSSION ON THE VOTE FOR RELEASING UM YES, BECAUSE IN TERMS OF A GENERAL QUESTION OF WAIVER, YES IN TERMS OF SPECIFIC QUESTIONS OF WAIVING TO OTHER GOVERNMENTAL ENTITIES, I WOULD SAY NO, I DON'T THINK IT IS GERMANE. THANK YOU, MR BRUSH. WELL, SO MR GARCIA, DO YOU HAVE MORE COMMENT? OKAY, SO POINT OF INFORMATION. SO WHAT? BUT DON'T YOU NEED A SECOND POINT OF INFORMATION? SO WOULD IT BE JERMAINE? GIVEN THE QUESTION? OR OR A STATEMENT THAT WAS MADE BY TRUSTEE MALONE, UH AND MR GARCIA'S ANSWER TO THAT QUESTION REGARDING THE RELEASE OF ATTORNEY CLIENT PRIVILEGE INFORMATION. I'M IN A SECOND MISS MALONE'S MOTION. DO WE NEED

[02:30:05]

A VOTE? ON WHETHER OR NOT TO CALL THE QUESTION, YES. OKAY, SO THAT'S ABOUT I HAVE NOT GET A CHANCE TO MAKE A COMMENT. MOTION FAILED. 384 SO WE CONTINUE THE DISCUSSION, SO I'M GONNA MAKE A COMMENT. UM HERE'S A FEW THINGS. ONE THING IS REGARDING TO MISS MALONE'S COMMENT. WE WENT INTO THE CLOSE SESSION AT 914. SO 915 EVERYONE HAD A COPY OF THE REPORT, AND THEN WE HAVE MISS MORRIS. UM WITH US. HEADING THROUGH THE REPORT, AND I DIDN'T HEAR ANY OBJECTION WHEN WE COME OUT TO READY FOR THE VOTE. THAT'S THAT'S ONE THING. SECOND REGARDLESS, THE CONTENTS OF THE REPORT THAT'S OUR DUTY TO RELEASE THE REPORT TO THE PUBLIC. THE REASON BEING THAT WE PUBLICLY ACCUSED A FORMER EMPLOYEE IN PUBLIC MEETING.

THAT'S WHAT TRIGGERED THIS, UM INVESTIGATION. SECOND, UM I'M A REALTOR AGENT. SO IF I HAVE INSPECTION REPORT, I DON'T KNOW IF THE INSPECTOR REGARDLESS IF THE INSPECTION REPORT IF IT'S GOOD OR NOT. I NEED TO SHOW IT TO MY CLIENT AND OUR CLIENT IS THE COMMUNITY AND WE ALL EVERY DUTY TO THE COMMUNITY TO SHOW THEM THE TRANSPARENCY AND PROVIDE THEIR FACTS SO THAT BEING SAID LET'S VOTE.

I TRUST ONE MORE ITEM. SO THERE'S THE, UH ONE MORE MOTION. I HAVE IT. YES I MOVED THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES EXCEPT THE HEARING OFFICERS RECOMMENDATION CONCERNING THE LEVEL THREE F NG GRIEVANCE APPEAL OF BB. A SECOND. WE HAVE A MOTION THAT IS KIND AND YOU GUYS, DOCTOR? GET HIM. HAVE THESE SPECIAL NO.

MOTION HAS TO 70 I HAVE A MOTION TO OFFEND THE I MOVED TO ADJOURN THIS MEETING. THE MEETING IS 1056.
